What can I say?.. I had to ask for a change of cutlery as mine was starting to gather dust!!.. Nooooo!… I am joking, there was a small wait as we hadn’t reserved a table and decided last minute to go try out their roast.. (I would advise booking a table in advance) oh my gosh.. the roast was amazing, there was a great choice of meats, there was no frozen veg!.. no diced frozen swede; which I find in many places lately and its massive turn off and a no from me!... The veg was fresh and cooked properly, and of which, there was plenty.. It tasted just as a home cooked roast should.. It doesn’t happen often, but, I was too full and satisfied to order a pudding!.. I did sadly miss out on the sticky toffee pudding. The staff, all staff, bar staff, waiting staff, kitchen staff, were all fabulous. They were very friendly and welcoming on our arrival. There was a gentleman at the bar on our arrival, I believe his name was Vincent?.. he spotted that we were new customers and instantly made us feel at home and while giving us a tour, he talked to us about the history and current story and plans of The Brunel so far… The size of the venue is deceiving from the outside, once inside The Brunel, the building opens up massively . On display is winning sports competition paraphernalia all through the bars… snooker bars, pool bars, family bars, a stage for the acts that are regularly booked and performed… I can say honestly that The Brunel, is high up there on the.. Roast, or not even brown toast, scale, as with grub like that, I will go back.. the banging scran, the welcoming staff, the good choice or beer, lagers and ales, I will definitely revisit this bar again.. also, I am still to sample the wines and cocktails, and also the sports, sports competitions and the entertainment side of the venue… See ya soon guys!!.. *After edit: I have however, just thought, as I did on Sunday, what the vegetarian options were.. I didn’t notice any alternatives, or offered any alternatives… Don’t panic I ain’t vegetarian or vegan!.. but some times it’s nice to know what the no meat alternatives are.. sod the vegans.. chuck them out the back (is there a back communal area?) with some water and a packet of lentil baked wafers..

Although not usually my kind of place I visit, I've got to say that all the staff were really welcoming being from over 300 miles away they made me feel like a usual customer! They also helped in setting up a 70th birthday table for my uncle who lives very close to here and really enjoys going here for his now local beers! Good food and a really decent selection of drinks on tap give this place a well deserved 5 stars ✨ I'd definitely go back on my next visit for sure......... Just a shame I can only make it maybe twice a year! Thanks again team for looking after me and making the birthday extra special!

Went for a round of darts, darts and pool area very clean and equipped with quality boards and tables. Didn't have food but as I left it smelt lovely as I left. Venue very smart throughout.

Amazing roast! Lived in St Budeaux a long time but never been here as never appeared inviting. Went in recently (as has been refurbished etc) and had the most amazing roast and was reasonably priced too. Only criticism is I would return but my child sadly would not eat the roast so would be nice to have something else on offer. Sadly I can not go back on a Sunday due to my...
