Staff Could Do With Some Barista Training This cafe is located in a beautiful spot and could really be something special. Lots of outside seating available which overlook the little play area, so great for keeping an eye on little ones whilst having a coffee. The cafe is dog friendly as well. I didn't order hot food, just ice cream and coffee. The ice cream was lovely and was thoroughly enjoyed by the kids! A couple of less positive points: staff really need some barista training as I ordered a flat white and got a milky coffee with no foam, which was disappointing. Decent coffee could really make this place great and would make a regular customer out of me! I also noted that one of the ladies behind the counter didn't have a mask on and there are no dividers. I understand some people are medically exempt from masks but maybe she'd have been better not serving face to face in that case. Aside from that the staff were all very friendly and efficient.

Came here for a break during a lunchtime walk on a hot, sunny day. The cafe is in the middle of the park and is pet friendly and suitable for families. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Menu options have hot and cold choices from sandwiches and paninis to cooked breakfasts (all day). They also offered a selection of cakes and ice creams. The prices are reasonable. I had an egg mayo baguette with salad and a latte. The bread was fresh and the service was quick. The staff were friendly & professional. I felt very at ease here. They even had a bookshelf to borrow a book to read whilst chilling out in the park. I recommend this place. I'll definitely be back here.

Cheap. Takes apple pay/contact less. Convenient place to stop by after walking the dog However, I ordered a cream tea there last week and everything was very dirty and my cream tea was served with salted melted butter. Was gross. I wasn't told before when ordering that they ran out of clotted cream. Not really a good substitute and j wouldn't have purchased it if I knew it was served with melted salted butter....

It’s such a shame this was not a good experience, as it’s in a really good location for the park or the Soap Box theatre. I was instantly struck by how downbeat the decor was, everything looks really tired and quite depressing. I tried to order food which I found confusing with no menus or signage. When I asked how it all worked I wasn’t exactly greeted with the warmest welcome. Staff training could be worked on. Staff weren’t rude, just blunt, miserable and unhelpful. We ordered a panini, sandwich and Mac and cheese. It was all quite standard apart from the Mac and cheese which was inedible, it tasted more like custard. When I tried to use the baby changing facilities I found them to be locked. When I requested access I was directed to the disabled toilet where there was a stretcher/operating table to use. The slippery table was completely unsuitable to change a baby on, it was very easy to fall off without a side or a straps. We unfortunately won’t...

Sadly, I went on the day there was no friendly service and cold food served. I took my Dad as a treat, but the atmosphere wasn't great. When I asked for a menu, I was met with a blank face and a look of why are you asking me that. The menu board was pointed out to me, which was on a wall behind the counter about 6ft up! I duly ordered 3 cooked brekfasts and was served by a blank, miserable person, with no warmth, friendliness or interest. The food arrived and was mostly cold with vile, cheap tasting spread on the toast. That was inedible and I had ordered extra!! We ate what we could, which wasn't great. There was a large group in with us. I knew one who told me they weren't eating, just meeting for coffee. The way he said it and sneered, saying we never eat here, should have warned me. We may well have picked a bad day, with kitchen problems, but a friendly, welcoming smile...
