There was confusion with the order at first as the tables had been moved around and the waitress did not know where to deliver the food, but we didn’t wait too long and it was nice when it arrived. Build your own burger for £5 on a Wednesday was excellent value.

Wow! Came in for the women’s footie final and decided to get some Champagne as commiserations. The staff went above and beyond and got us strawberries to go with it, didn’t need to! Great service and customer care. 5stars!!!

Great pub and well organised. A big thank you to the bar staff and i think the guy was called Steve who i think was the landlord for making us welcome. Boy was it busy in there that day we were there.

I was appalled by the lack of customer service I received when I visited tonight. We ignored the lack of organisation from the start when our booking was lost, even though I had the email confirmation for the 18.00 table for the 5 of us. Then after ordering food and drinks at 18.13, our food finally arrived after several different excuses from the waitresses at 20.49 - over 2.5 hours after ordering! I asked to speak to the manager regarding this and an older blonde haired lady who was deputising I assume said she had been left short staffed by the manager and the ticket getting lost and the very long wait for our food 'shouldn't have happened but it did so there's nothing more I can say about it.'

We were first told by the waitresses that the food would be a further 15 minutes after waiting an hour as the kitchen was very busy. Then after 90 minutes and asking again, we were told there were only two chefs on so it was taking longer to get the orders complete. Then after 2 hours of waiting, we were told our order receipt was never even taken into the kitchen so the chefs were unaware of the order as it had got lost!

The blonde haired lady who was 'in charge' said first of all that the kitchen was understaff, until I told her that I had been told that our ticket hadn't even made it to the kitchen, which she then agreed was the real reason why we hadn't received our food after almost 2.5 hours, despite being given two different reasons whilst we waited.

Unreal that a paying customer would receive such poor customer service and lack of responsibility for their team letting customers down. Eventually this blonde haired lady 'in charge' backed down and said sorry for the delay, after approaching our table with her back up and opened with 'so you wanted to speak to me?' We were not offered a refund, just two small children's ice creams, as we sat and finally ate the food we paid for in the dark and rain, totally ruining what should have been a nice family trip out for my four children and I.

More staff training needs to be implemented immediately. We shall not...

I used to drink in here over 20 years ago, and I was shocked at what has happened to this place. It used to be a lovely pub and would feel safe taking your kids to, but not now. This pub has been run into the ground and massively neglected. It was a busy night but the pub was filthy with rubbish everywhere, ripped furniture, broken signs, toilets were disgusting, and the pub had run out of toilet paper, so we were given napkins! Bar was dripping in stale alcohol as was floor both sides of the bar. Bar was poorly stocked and ran out of vodka at approx 8pm on Saturday night, the garden looked like there had been a week long festival in it with rubbish and cups everywhere. I feel sorry for the barstaff as they did the best they could in these circumstances. However you could tell they were stressed due to their facial expressions. And what is most disturbing is the fact that a few extremely intoxicated people were still being served despite the fact they could not walk. I witnessed one throwing up outside the pub, another fell into a parked car, and the other staggered out the pub and fell straight through the advertising board and hit her head on the wall. In my opinion, this pub needs to be closed down for a refit and a shake up...

Very popular local venue for young and old alike. The left side, so to speak, is the lively bar area, and to the right are all the tables for dining. The latter is good Greene King fayre, so you know more or less what your getting. Their two main courses for a tenner are great value and popular - bit like a Weatherspoons on that front, but without all the old geezer unkempt boozers everywhere, if that sort of makes sense (no offence meant)! A lively, loud (some might say noisy) pub in the evening ( but then it is packed more often than not on Friday and Saturday), very often that seems popular - a "pre-out-out" meeting hub - with younger people and some families too (early tea times). Sky Sports. Big outdoor garden area (for a city pub) and big thumbs up for allowing dogs. Doormen evenings weekends. Thumbs up too for hygiene rating. Lastly, it's been here ages (decades)... so I guess can't be doing...
