Been a few times recently, it's a traditional pub and the interior is lovely and really want to like it here more than we do. We've been served by the same person who is abrupt and unfriendly, maybe different if you're a regular I don't know, since so many people say they're treated well. When we went with family and ordered food they were hostile when we questioned a difference between what was written on the menu and what arrived in the plate, and I saw a member of bar staff rolling her eyes at my partner at the bar when he asked about where the baby change was. Really weird behaviour each time we've been that we've been left wondering about when we head home. Probably won't be giving it another go. Pints are good value but would rather pay the extra pound elsewhere to have decent service and not feel like...

Today I visited Portsmouth and happened to come across this bar, so I decided to step inside. I’m not someone who usually drinks alcohol, but today I went in for a drink. The bar has several separate rooms and a fairly large outdoor area. Inside the rooms, the walls are decorated with many photos, shirts, and memorabilia, most of them related to football, which gives the place a unique and lively atmosphere. The lady behind the bar was extremely professional, friendly, and welcoming, making the experience even better. Overall, this is a beautiful bar, and among all the pubs and bars I have visited in England, this has been the best and most beautiful one so far. Highly...

Called the pub to make a reservation for Xmas lunch for 2 people. Was advised that I needed to pre-order and pay a deposit, they would email me a link. Three hours later still no email. Decided to email my order in and asked for details of how to pay. Got a reply informing me I could pay over the phone or click a link in the email to pay online. Decided to call the pub to pay. The guy who I spoke to couldn't find my order on the system and seemed incapable of taking a pre-order (for 2 people!) and payment over the phone. He eventually said he would get someone to call me back. More than 36 hours later I am still waiting. Totally incompetent. Would have scored...

Have eaten ok food here in the past but my last experience was not a good one. The roast was not worth the money. It was more like a cafe roast dinner. The cauliflower cheese was just a pile of mush (see photo). I thought it was a bread sauce. When I asked about this, the waitress didn't even stop to discuss it but said over her shoulder "that's how it comes". She did eventually ask later how the dinner was and I mentioned the cauliflower again. She said she would speak to the chef and get another but it would probably be the same. She was right! The beef was also overcooked. One star as they didn't even care.

Great drinking pub, possibly a good Sunday roast pub, but steak was absolutely awful. The steak pictured was a re-cooked attempt at med-rare! It was hungry horse quality for a premium price tag!!! Plenty of good steak restaurants for a very similar price in Southsea! Took about 30 mins for replacement steak, was still over cooked, and my friend had finished her meal. A round of drinks were comped but it wasn't a good experience and I wouldn't eat there again. Good for drinks and a fabulous beer garden but that's all I'd go there for
