I went in for just an ice cream, I've been working all week, long shifts so decided to rush down to the cafe, grab an ice cream and walk across the beach before it rained. The ice cream was warm and practically melting, portion sizes were super small! And the ice cream cone which is stored on the floor in an open not sealed container, was gone off, stale / chewy so I couldn't eat it and put it in the bin. But that's not the worst part for 3 scoops of ice cream in a tub it was listed £3.60 I decided to have it in a cone so I expected it to be a bit money and on the till it came up as £4.60. which is expensive but fine I paid, contactless waited and wasn't given a receipt. The man just said aren't you in a hurry which I found suspicious but I left. The next thing I knew as I reached the beach my phone told me I'd been CHARGED £6.60 for a disgusting uneatable ice cream. So beware of the scam they are running CHECK your bill! They are adding £2, £3, on to your bill and hoping to get away with it or that no one notices. I did and will never go there again. How can the till tell me im going to be paying £4.60 and they dare when entering it on to the card machine add another £2 on...
Read moreHad pulled pork baguette and vegan feta baguette. The bread was excellent, very fresh and tasty, one of the best baguettes I have ever had. However, we weren't so impressed with the fillings. The pulled pork was nice but too spicy. The onion chutney was interesting, but all the other ingredients (except the rocket that was fresh) tasted a bit artificial. Coffees: nice mocha and cortado. But, in the menu, there is no single espresso: why? What's the point of offering double espresso if there is no single espresso? The service is excellent: all very friendly and quick, especially very friendly, thank you for that! We sat outside, didn't have the chance to see the inside except for the time we spent ordering etc. however, all looks tidy and very clean from what we could see. Suggestion: please add parasols to the tables outside (at the back of the restaurants); the British sun is not so strong compared to the Southern European one - still, it can be uncomfortable to sit for a meal under even a cloudy sky during a warm summer day (especially because there as so many kids around). Looking forward to trying the soups and salads next time (maybe we are not so keen of...
Read moreThis cafe is an absolute GEM, I’ve been coming to south-sea for years (since I was a child) WHY have I never eaten at this cafe unTill now! I came in on Father’s Day with my husband and baby girl for a special lunch and it just made my day. We both had ham and cheese baguettes with sweet chilli and shared a sausage roll, both of these were absolutely incredible I am really impressed. The sea salt brownie was probably the nicest brownie I’ve ever eaten in my life (I’m a chef de partie and I have eaten a lot of brownies!) even the coffee was just delicious. I was served by a very helpful, friendly and lovely girl (short hair) who just topped off the whole experience. One staff member grabbed me a high chair which was very helpful as I had my hands full. 10/10 would recommend this brilliant little cafe, it was such a pleasant surprise when the food turned out to be this great! Thank-you for helping to make my husbands first Father’s...
