I have been many times before over the years but haven't been for a few months as a new store was open closer to me last year but went today for food but after seeing how it has gone down in cleanliness I was put off so just had a coffee from the machine it was actually the cleanliness of the staff on shift that put me off as well staff member Di and a man whose name I couldn't get as he wasn't wearing a badge uniforms were filthy I work in a kitchen and wouldn't dream of looking like that at work they were filthy as where the tables sticky and grubby the drinks station was a mess and all machines empty only giving water no milk no coffee until we asked for them to be filled its such a shame as my opinion the staff are not upto scratch and letting Morrisons down I will not be going back ever its disgusting also had a bottle of sanitiser left out in the food display with the food and had to tell a member of staff as I thought of a child had grabbing for it should not be left out especially as they don't use it anyway a member of staff threw it back under the counter I bet it doesn't get taken out again for a while Honestly I was very disappointed and would rate it 2* no more and that's without ordering food What a disgrace I think you should be looking at retraining you're staff or employing new members of staff as the ones you have are having a bad effect on your...
Read moreMy partner and I came today and we’re very disappointed with the food, service and cleanliness. There were barely any staff on the floor, meaning that people who were wanting to order in person had to wait for ages to get served. We ordered online and were told to collect the bottle of coke from the counter, where my partner waited for a while before he asked and was told to get it himself. I ordered a cloudy iced lemonade, and it didn’t say to collect this, leading us to believe that it would be brought over to us. However, after eating most of our food, we decided to ask about it and were told that we also had to collect that. It didn’t really taste of much. For food, we ordered a Yorkshire wrap but were told it wasn’t available, so my partner got a very dry burger instead. I had avocado on toast with poached eggs. It was okay, but really could have done with some seasoning. The chips and garlic bread were great though. Overall, it was a pretty poor experience. The prices are low, but staff will walk past you if you’re waiting for help, and the ordering could be difficult for people who aren’t familiar with technology. The tables could also do with being...
Read moreI still appreciate this kind of cafe, reasonably priced, simple, different from the usual chains and conveniently situated inside a supermarket. We have always frequented the Morrisons Cafe, here and Blackpool and other places; it's always been great. Primarily we enjoyed the fish and chips. Home cooked feel to the dish, lightly battered thick soft fish, well cooked chips, peas, tartar sauce in a little pot and bread and butter. Unfortunately our visit last night was a complete letdown. The service was very slow, the fish was overcooked, overbattered, overwhelmed by oil and the chips were very strange. They were little short bitty things, frozen probably but just tiny strips. Very odd....and come on Morrisons 'tinned peas!?' and then all shrivelled up. Stale bread. I have to say though that the side salads we ordered were excellent, fresh and full of ingredients...albeit that they seemed to have forgotten them on the original order and they were brought a bit later after we mentioned them!
Perhaps we'll give something else on the menu a try, another time as I wouldn't like to see the end of Morrisons Cafe. On the other hand,...
