Another brilliant independent eatery for Preston and possibly the best to date.
Small but varied menu comprising of starters, bread and olives, several pasta dishes with plenty of choice if you’re vegetarian and a selection of sandwiches.
The quality of the food is outstanding with everything made fresh in the open kitchen.
For a family of three we ordered focaccia, 3 pasta dishes, 1 sandwich and a tiramisu to share and it was all delicious. I had the Nduja pasta and it was so flavoursome with just the right amount of heat. The menu is designed that you get a few dishes and share but it was just too good, I could have eaten it again. The tiramisu was the best I’ve ever had.
Very fairly priced with the meal coming to around £57 including drinks.
The service was great too, not rushed but attentive.
Really liked the atmosphere of it too, due to its size most seating is up at the counter style tables that are at the bar and wrap around the rear of the dining room but there is a table that seats 6 in the middle. The staff happily reserved for us when I called to book and advised we had a child with us. I would recommend this restaurant for families with children who are comfortable at a dining table or a stool. The layout and concept of the small plates of food would work well for a solo diner.
I will absolutely be going back...

We discovered it randomly and popped in at lunchtime for a sandwich and some pasta from their lunch menu.
Delicious freshly pressed juice (£3) - orange and lime this week which has a refreshing bite to it.
The iced zabaglione (£5) was new to us and a delicious find, like an alcohol free espresso martini! Would recommend letting it chill with its ice cube for a bit once they serve it, as it was initially still a bit warm.
Great value on the lunch menu - we had the Classico sandwich (£5) and Cacio e Pepe fusilli (£7 + £1.5 for some crispy guanciale bits on top).
Classico sandwich was delicious, with fluffy foccacia & creamy mozzarella.
Cacio e Pepe was creamy and rich; a bit too salty for us unfortunately but chef said he might look into adjusting the amounts of pecorino so hopeful for it in future! The guanciale was perfectly rendered and crispy little bites of deliciousness.
We didn’t try desserts this time but look forward to trying them next time :)
Fun to see spots like this opening in Preston! Fast service as well, and you pay when you order (at lunchtime) so easy for an in...
Read moreWe were really excited to try this new restaurant, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the moment we walked in. We were not greeted warmly, and the first question we were asked was if we had a reservation. When we said we didn't, we were simply told "there's no room, sorry".
I pointed to the bar and asked if we could sit there, but the answer was a flat "no" without any explanation. They made no effort to offer alternatives, suggest a wait time, or even suggest we try another night.
Given that this is a new restaurant, we were surprised by the lack of hospitality and effort to secure new customers. The most frustrating part is that after this, I went to their website to see about booking for another night, only to find that there is no booking system available. This makes the initial encounter even more confusing and frustrating. A little more customer service would...
