The Wellington Inn — Restaurant in Preston

went yesterday the 9th june went for a carvery . it wasn't a carvery because the staff just brought it to u . my husbands food was cold so he told a young girl behind the bar which she completely ignored him , then the young man came from behind the bar and took it away . it came back warm and could tell it had been in the microwave . when my husband approached the situation the girl was very rude and said that they didn't use microwaves you could clearly see it had been warmed up with the ring round the plate of the gravy . my husband then said he didn't want the food the young girl just said speak to the manager she had a very bad attitude . the manager came and offered another dinner which my husband refused and got his money back . the manager did apologise the young girl just gave dirty looks and talked about us at the bar with another lady . we have been going in this pub for about 15yr not every week but often with other people aswell . sorry to say we will not be going again and spending our money to be felt like we...

This was our first visit to The Wellington Inn, as recommended by a friend. Whilst the food cannot be faulted,( it arrived as though freshly prepared and cooked. Good size portions nice and hot ) the decor and furnishings are very shabby, especially the worn, grubby looking seating. The prints / photos on the wall are charming and interesting to gaze upon as one waits for the ordered meal /s. By the way the wait wasn't too long at all for the food and was served very efficiently and politely. I guess if this place were to have a refurbishment, it would push the prices up and maybe even loose some of its quaintness and atmosphere, so maybe next time I'll concentrate solely on my lovely meal and not stop to think about the myriads of different bottoms that have sat where I'm sitting, and worn those seats into the greying, fading material that covers them in 2013. Ordered the Sunday lunch after rave reviews, wish I hadn't bothered! After half an hour late I rang, they said it was on the way, they then rang 30 mins after that to ask if we'd had the food delivered, that would be no!! It was on the way they promised, 30 mins after that after another phone call from me they promised it was on the way again! So after a hour and half late it turned up and I wish it hadn't. It looked like they'd lost the order then threw something together, everything was either overcooked or undercooked Not an enjoyable experience at all..... one I won't...
