We attended the âSabrina Carpenter themedâ bottomless brunch. As per the advertisement we were promised ânon stop hits, fun props and a shot of tequila rose on arrivalâ. What we actually received was a far cry from that. We arrived just before 4pm and were seated. We waited 20 minutes before we were asked what we would like to drink. Within this time I had spoken to two members of staff to ask when we would be served, both promising someone would take our order right away. By the time we received our first drink we were nearly 30 minutes into our Brunch. A lady who I assume is the manager came over to take our order and claimed she âdidnât know we had even arrived and no-one bothered to tell herâ at no point did she apologise for this mistake. My friend asked politely when we would get our shot which was promised on arrival and the manager huffed and claimed she would give them to us halfway through the brunch when she knows everyone else has arrived at their tables. Next, our food order was taken and when it arrived it was average at best. Avocado and poached eggs on toast was ordered by one member of our group and what she was presented with was a small slice of bread (not even toasted) sliced avocado and one very small poached egg with a side of sweetcorn. By the time we were an hour and a half into the two hour brunch we had only received three drinks each. Eventually the manager came back over to take another drinks order and I explained weâd already had our order taken 20 minutes ago but hadnât received them yet. The manager again huffed at me and said âwell theyâre busy at the barâ. She then took our order again and said sheâd get the drinks to us. I spoke to the manager and explained how disappointed we were with the lack of service and lack of drinks weâd had in an hour and a half. The manager passed the blame onto her staff. One excuse we were given was the table numbers arenât in order and itâs difficult when taking orders. Another was that she was busy âbeing moaned atâ by people who had made bookings. The manager was constantly giving excuses but not actually giving any apologies. She was rude, hostile, extremely unprofessional and unapproachable. The only time she tried to ârectifyâ the issue was 20 minutes until the end of our brunch where she claimed she would try and âsqueeze in another round of drinksâ. Realistically this was the least she could do when weâd had nowhere near the amount of drinks you would expect during a two hour bottomless brunch and often sat waiting 20 minutes a time without a drink. The venue wasnât even overly busy so using excuse that the staff couldnât keep up is pitiful. If you canât keep up with the demand of a bottomless brunch then Iâm afraid you shouldnât be hosting them. Another issue was that this was meant to be a themed brunch. Upon arrival we all had a plastic microphone each on our table. This is a far as props went. The advertisement of âfun propsâ was a bit of a stretch. âNon stop hitsâ were also non existent. Yes there was music quietly playing in the background. Could we hear it? No. Did I hear any Sabrina Carpenter hits? One. Not really the âSabrina inspiredâ brunch we had in mind. The atmosphere was flat, no one could hear any music to even sing along with their microphone prop if they wanted to, sky sports was playing on every tv and there was absolutely no encouragement to sing along and enjoy yourselves. From the managers attitude alone it felt like having fun was discouraged. Would...
Read moreI can honestly say this was the worst bottomless brunch Iâve ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, things went wrong. We were seated at a table with a smashed glass on the floor directly beneath us, with the liquid from that glass all over the table, mixed with mayonnaise. It took me going up to two different staff members to get someone to clean it before we could even order.
We waited 30 minutes before receiving our first drink, and I then had to approach the bar again to ask if we could order our food. I was told it couldnât be done at the bar, so someone would be sent over. They arrived 10 minutes later and still didnât take our next drink order, even though our drinks were empty. I tried to get the attention of two staff members, but was ignored, so I had to go up to the bar once again to request more drinks. This became a recurring theme throughout the brunchâup and down, constantly having to chase the staff, to the point where I might as well have just worked as a waitress myself.
To make matters worse, we were denied the complimentary Tequila Rose shot that was advertised unless we paid for it. So much for complimentary.
I ordered the pancakes, and they were incredibly disappointingâcold, with bitter chocolate on top. When our food finally arrived, the waiter didnât bring any cutlery and ran off before I could ask for it. So, once again, I had to go up to the bar to ask for cutlery, and it took another 10 minutes for it to arrive. That was only after someone came over to ask how our food was, and I had to tell them we couldnât eat it yet because we didnât have the proper utensils!
As our time slot came to an end, someone came over to rush us into paying, stating that he âwants to go and canât leave until we pay.â I just paid without further hassle because by then, I was so fed up I didnât want to cause any more disruption, but I was nottt happy. I will be looking into how to get a refund because this was an incredibly poor experience from start to finish.
Itâs such a shame, because I went to the Slug and Lettuce bottomless brunch in Manchester as part of a party of 20 people, and it was MUCH busier, yet the service was excellent, the food was great, and the drinks were flowing. So, thereâs really no excuse for how poorly this experience went.
I would not recommend the evening bottomless...
Read moreAbsolutely overrated, from arriving at the place for a hen party, nothing but problems. When my friend booked the venue she explained that three of us were having non alcoholic brunch. One was myself, the other two decided to order off the menu, my friend explained all this on 3 occasions. When we arrived they said the two who were ordering of normal menu had to sit by themselves. Only because we said that we had ring up on 3 occasions and explained that they allowed them to sit with us. I will just add that that there were 10 of us, quite a bit of money. I only had 1 cocktail which I didn't drink, I did infact order an orange and lemonade which I didn't get. Two bouncer's stood and watched us while we were there for and hour. Three of the girls went into the garden the bouncer's came back in and said that one of the girls had had a drink of one of the party was on bottomless brunch, she was not entitled to do as she wasn't paying for it!!!!! Bit extreme considering the amount of money we were spending. It wasn't a full drink I will add. She said she hadn't drank any of it. She was then told to leave, her mother was the bride, so obviously we are all going to leave. The bouncer followed us out which is rather insulating considering I am 61. Will not recommend this place to anyone 'paying £35/40 for a burger and 1 drink which I left. Even the other's only had 2 drinks and a burger. Absolute rip-off . I did say to the manager "how can you charge us the full amount for two drinks and a burger? I also added that I hadn't even had a drink as mine was still in front of me. " we did walk out without paying only because nothing was getting resolved but we knew that they had my friends details. The manger then rang and said "they had checked cctv and she did have a drink of the drink she wasn't paying for, so he took the money" we were then getting on the minibus an hour later and a bouncer was stood outside shouting at us saying "are you coming to pay your bill?" One of us replied it's been paid!! Will never go this place again!!!!! Also one of the girls l who ordered of the normal menu found a hair in her...
