Tulketh Chippy — Restaurant in Preston

This is one of the few that are left, a real English Chippy, serving chips that are made from real potatos (not from frozen). The gravy looks and tastes great just as I remember my Grans gravy was over 50 years ago, the portion size are very good and if you dare ask for a large portion of chips be prepaired to eat nothing other than the chips you get for the rest of the night. Fish might as well had still been swimming it was that under. The batter came straight off with the paper and fell to pieces. What was left was a horrible looking carcus with raw bits of batter on it

Barmcake was well on its way to being stale. Not soft at all

Peas horrible

Gravy tasted like a cheap bisto with no consistency

Overall you could just tell no love had gone into it and 0 character

Was so looking forward to this, but the 3 fish were under cooked , very pale , dripping with fat and tasted unseasoned. The batter was raw inside and was mushy. The chips were ok but tasted par cooked. We also got a child’s meal of sausage and chips , the sausage looked torn in half from its other half rather than cut. Shame as we heard good reports , but it costs too much money to risk it again. I’ll stay with my local. More care and attention needed on...
