Haslam Park is a traditional late victorian style park. It is of mixed layout including wildlife area, kids play area, bowling greens and wide open grassed area. It's bordered by a canal to the east, Blackpool Road to the south. The car park is however small and is hit or miss in spaces being available. There is a small Brook running over the west side which in parts is quite scruffy due to dumping, littering etc. All in all like most of Preston public parks its suffering locally from anti social behaviour at times which certainly has put me off and others I know of from using this park. All in all, haslam is worth a visit though I would probably recommend keeping it to the daytime and not early evening. Read moreNormally play on the tennis courts in Haslam Park during the summer when the courts in Ashton Park are busy. Today was the first time this year i had a chance to play but the courts in Haslam Park are now pay to play, like Ashton. The gate to the court is locked with a keypad lock. There was no Qr code to try and book one when i arrived today. Went through the website of the Private company that now runs the courts (Thanks Preston Council) but despite all 3 courts being empty the earliest date the website would allow me to book was the 31st of July. Read moreArguably the nicest Public Park in Preston. Very well maintained open space with large grass area. Recently updated park area for children. Large pond with a variety of birds that take residence each year. Local flower shop sells seed to feed the birds. This park is also home to parakeets, you need to look carefully but you will hear them first. Teaching your kids to ride their bikes? This park has lovely long and wide paths throughout.
