Been a few times now and each time has sadly gone a little more downhill. The service leaves a lot to be desired, customers stood waiting whilst the one person manning everything was more concerned about delivery orders than the growing queue of customers. Orders not taken for at least 5 minutes, if not more, of standing at the till. The first time, the milkshake was good and my son said worth the wait however my ice coffee wasn't the best but certainly wasn't the worst. 2nd visit - again left waiting ages at the till whilst the delivery orders were prioritised even ones coming through after we got to the till. No order taken and asked to take a seat which would have been so much better. I don't mind a wait but just to be left in limbo wasn't good. Ferrero Roche ice cream not that good and tasted a little powdery. Ordered an iced vanilla latte which had no taste? Gave it benefit of the doubt as I love to support local but our 3rd visit well... we left. Got to the till, told would be a wait to even be served let alone get our order. Asked how long the wait would be, 10 minutes to take the order then however long it took him to actually make the order as again he was more bothered about the delivery orders coming through. Left the shop with an upset child. We told the man serving we only wanted one drink nothing complex but still couldn't be bothered serving me or the several other customers behind me. Won't be coming again until customer service greatly improves! It's a shame as the shop has so...
Read moreI recently visited this shop and decided to try their signature sundae called "Totally Nuts." Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointing experience.
From the moment I received the sundae, the presentation looked promising; however, the taste fell flat. The flavor combination didn’t work well together, making it difficult to enjoy. I found myself unable to have more than two spoonfuls before setting it aside—it just wasn’t palatable.
To add to the disappointment, the sundae was priced at £9, which felt quite steep given the quality. I would argue that any sundae should ideally be priced around £5, especially considering what I’ve experienced at other ice cream shops.
On a positive note, the service was excellent, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The ambiance of the shop is welcoming, making it a nice place to hang out. It’s clear that they’ve put effort into creating a pleasant environment for customers.
While the atmosphere and service were commendable, I can’t recommend the "Totally Nuts" sundae, especially at that price point. It may have just been this particular item, but I think it's best to explore other menu options instead. Hopefully, my experience was an anomaly, and others may have better luck with...
Read moreExcellent customer service, boring doughnuts, bland cookies.
However, like all the main dessert places, the food looks nicer than it tastes very, very bland.
Make your own donuts at home, it's much easier than you think, especially for these type of doughnuts, that rely purely on toppings for any taste. (Joshua Weissman recipe or go to Allrecipes for easy ones or adapt your own).
For the average person this might be okay, but if you have been spoiled by other donut companies or made imitation stuff like this at home, you should definitely skip this.
Edit:
People don't typically review things straight away, unless it's horrific or really good. Google sends push notifications to places you have been to or have browsed, asking if you would like to review.
Reduced rating from 3 to 2, because you evidently cannot handle criticism. Your products just taste like theme park donuts from Merlin Entertainments' supplier with less flavour.
3 was a good score, there was no need to be upset. But thanks, I'll be teaching you how to make real brownies...
