What is there to say… oh wait!
5 Stars - A Wonderful Experience at Earley Cafe!
I recently visited Earley Cafe, and I must say, it was an absolute delight from start to finish. This charming little spot has quickly become one of my new favorites. If you're in the area and looking for a cozy, welcoming place to enjoy great food and coffee, I highly recommend giving Earley Cafe a try.
First impressions are everything, and as soon as I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm atmosphere. The interior is beautifully designed, with a mix of modern and rustic touches that make it feel both trendy and homey. The soft lighting, comfortable seating, and relaxed vibe made it the perfect place to unwind, whether you’re catching up with friends, reading a book, or just enjoying some alone time.
The menu is fantastic. It features a great selection of coffees, teas, and fresh, flavorful meals. I opted for a cappuccino to start, and it was perfection – rich, creamy, and with just the right amount of froth. They take their coffee seriously here, and it really shows in every sip. I also tried one of their pastries, a warm, flaky croissant that was just what I needed to pair with my coffee. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients, and everything is made with care.
The highlight of my visit, though, was the food. I decided to go for one of their lunch options, and I was not disappointed. I had the avocado toast with poached eggs, and it was absolutely delicious. The eggs were cooked to perfection, and the combination of flavors was spot-on. The bread was fresh, the avocado perfectly ripe, and it all came together for a meal that was both satisfying and wholesome.
What really stood out to me was the level of service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making sure everyone was enjoying their experience. They were more than happy to offer recommendations and made sure I felt comfortable throughout my time there. It’s clear that Earley Cafe values its customers and strives to create a positive, enjoyable experience for everyone.
The cafe also has a lovely selection of cakes and other sweet treats, which I plan to try next time. It's the kind of place you can go to for any occasion – whether it's a casual coffee date, a quiet study spot, or just somewhere to enjoy a leisurely lunch.
All in all, I had a fantastic time at Earley Cafe. The food was delicious, the coffee was outstanding, and the service was top-notch. I’m already looking forward to my next visit. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favour and stop by – you...
Read moreCame into earley cafe today with my boyfriend , I used to go years ago as a child with my grandma but today I introduced him to earley cafe as it’s a nostalgic gem with good quality food . We came at lunch time and I arrived with the intention of getting the Sunday lunch/roast as I used to get the roast lamb dinner after school . Unfortunately I don’t think they were serving this at the time so instead I decided on a full english breakfast and added hash browns. My boyfriend got the half pounder burger which arrived large with a double patty and a side of fries which were crisp to perfection😍! Love the chips here. He even said that this burger was a close second to his favourite burger place ! Which shocked me ! For such a good price too. He also chose a Oreo milk shake which came out beautiful 🤩 he says very sweet and flavourful , topped with whipped cream and an Oreo on top - looked straight out of an American diner ! I love when they use real Oreo’s. Generous size milkshake too!! He certainly enjoyed as I caught him spooning the leftover whipped cream into his mouth afterwards 😉. I also got a mango and pineapple smoothie which I’d never tried, I had high hopes for this and it exceeded my expectations! Wonderful flavour tasted very fresh and had a sprinkling of what looked like freeze dried raspberries on top which thoroughly enjoyed ! My only recommendation I have for the smoothies is that they should offer a larger straw as this would make it easier to drink. Still very much enjoyed ! I enjoyed my full English the beans were flavourful along with the hash browns which were my favourite ! Crisp and hot ! Loved the side of fries , egg was cooked to perfection and sausages were juicy . I had with ketchup 😃. It had a side of toast however I didn’t eat this as it was pre-spread with margarine which I can’t stand unfortunately. 🫢 butter would be much better but next time I will simply request butter instead. Wonderful experience overall , warm welcoming atmosphere with attentive staff and filled with locals from the area. Lovely to see how long this cafe has been going for , quality has not decreased over the years I must say ! Top notch service and great food for very reasonable price ! Might be unassuming from the outside due to the area and it’s not so great reputation but trust me don’t be too quick to judge before you come in and try the wondeful menu variety. Love the outdoor seating too, was full when I arrived as it was a lovely sunny day. We will definitely be coming back after rediscovering this gem...
Read moreIt was my first visit to this cafe. I was happy to see the Food Hygiene Rating of 5 on the door, which is dated Sept 2024. I was greeted by a friendly staff member with a smile and it made me feel very welcome.
I ordered a Create Your Own Breakfast. I chose my 5 items from a good selection of items on their menu board. The lady then mentioned that it comes with a Tea or Coffee. As I don’t drink either Tea or Coffee, I asked whether I could have a Hot Chocolate instead. I was surprised to be told that I would have to pay £2.75 extra in full for a regular cup of Hot Chocolate, rather than the difference between the cost of a Tea/Coffee (£1.50) and the Hot Chocolate (£2.75), of which the difference would have been £1.25. (Which is what I am used to at other cafes I have visited).
As I felt that this was unfair and I wasn’t prepared to pay the £2.75 in full, I had my breakfast without a drink, which again wasn’t what I would have wanted, as I would have really appreciated a drink accompanyjng my Full English Breakfast.
I personally would have expected to pay an extra £1.00 or £1.50 maximum for the UPGRADE from a Tea/Coffee and the Hot Chocolate, as that would have been a better option as that is what other cafes in my local area would have done.
After my meal, she gave me a QR code to leave a review, so as it was my first visit and I visit Reading regularly, I thought I should be honest and leave a constructive review. I hope that they take this minor issue on board for my next visit.
Ultimately, I would be happy to eat here again as the food and service was great and it seems quite a popular place. 4 out of 5 from me, it would have been 5 out of 5, if it wasn’t for the pricing issue on the upgrade to the hot chocolate.
All the best to the staff here and see you...
