The online experience was very good, very easy to order. The tracker showed the order was processed and pizzas cooked within 5-10 minutes of the order being placed. The tracker then showed the order then sat waiting for delivery for 16 minutes. The order then showed as being in delivery for a further 20 minutes (the shop is 5 minutes drive from our house). The tracker then showed the order as being delivered, although it hadn't. After 5 minutes we called the restaurant and asked where our food was, thinking it may have been delivered to the wrong address. The restaurant didn't know and the order did arrive another 1 minute later so the tracker showed the food delivered around 6 minutes before it actually was. So the pizza was received 42 minutes after it was cooked. The order should have come with a drink. I asked the driver if he had it and he replied "No one gave me a drink to deliver" and said "don't worry you will receive a refund", which wasn't particular helpful. I have yet to receive any refund. If I had taken something from your shop without paying I would rightly be arrested for stealing. But not being supplied with something you paid for and not receiving a refund is somehow acceptable. Read moreI hadn’t had a Papa Johns for years. I now remember why that is. Ordered 4 pizzas and 2 potato tots directly on Papa Johns website. It turns out the delivery is from Uber, which we didn’t know until we paid. We must have had the most useless driver in the whole of Reading. We’ve had thousands of deliveries to our home and not one person has ever had an issue. Two phone calls and he was still lost. Eventually I had to run down the road in the pelting rain and wave him down. He opened his car boot and I noticed that our food wasn’t even in a thermal bag, it was just chucked in. Obviously, the pizza and tots were freezing cold. The tots were not a nice golden colour, and clearly needed cooking longer. The pizzas looked shop bought, had hardly any tomato sauce on the base and the toppings were tasteless. I’ve honestly had better frozen pizzas from Iceland. So, if you fancy pizza and are thinking of having a change, like I did, don’t do it. We got the notification to say it had been delivered, but it had not. We waited a while in case it was an automated notification and my wife phoned up. We were told by the extremely rude staff member that someone had called up and changed the delivery address. We told them we never called and their response was that someone had called up, and then they had sent it to the new address. The manager then hung up on me when I was on the phone with him trying to figure out what had happened. After finally getting the order (delivered by the incorrect recipient mind you, thw shop had mixed up a load of orders and sent out order to someone else, so this family got two Papa Johns deliveries) the garlic source is awful and the papadias was awfully underwhelming.
