Yard Style Takeaway — Restaurant in Reading

First it's a very well presented place I had to wait a little for someone to come to take my order when I got home the food looked and smelt delicious and tasted delicious, my only complaint is the same as all Carribbean takeaway's in Reading a large meal for £10 fine by me but should be call a large rice and bones coz surely the price is based on the meat portion but the quantity doesn't reflect that and what's with choping the oxtail into bite size pieces where the sharp bones cut and bruise your gums come on guy balance the scales equal meat equal rice that's only fair people will buy your food coz it is really delicious no matter the price but my gums are sore right now. This place is thee one, I had oxtail, rice and peas and my wife had jerk chicken. The food was superb, the oxtail was well seasoned, the meat to rice ratio was perfect, rice nice and light. The Jerk chicken was delicious again well seasoned and the flavour, mate!! Not to mention you get potato salad, salad and Plantain with your meal. We got the regular meal and the price is great for the size, I was shocked that I didn't have to take out a mortgage to taste some good very authentic food.

The staff are very welcoming and pleasant and the vibe is what you expect from a Caribbean take, loads of smiles, strangers having a laugh together. Defo my favourite...

Ordered a whole Jerk chicken, expecting a whole chicken. Not too much to ask right? Wrong! Got 4 pieces of bony chicken back, diced up, no drums and a little bit of breast - basically very little meat for £25. Also the jerk chicken was not authentic, there was some horrible fake jerk sauce squeezed on top. Flavour was ok otherwise but ruined by the sauce

Large mutton curry was a very ungenerous portion. Maybe one scoop of rice, one scoop of mutton, was only a few chunks.

Overall really disappointed. Very much wanted to support this business as they are serving food from my culture, but I won't be going back, certainly not...
