Rajas grill Rochdale — Restaurant in Rochdale

We have been ordering from Raja’s for years it is a trusted go to for us. However, a few days ago we ordered a BBQ chicken pizza, grilled whole chicken and fries for home delivery through Just Eat. The food arrived in half an hour which was great but it ends there. The chicken on the pizza had a really strange aftertaste leading us to believe it was old. The fries also tasted old which is sad because they’re normally great, and we did not enjoy the grilled chicken either. I don’t know if they were having an off day or something but we were really disappointed, our dinner was ruined and made us feel sick and I doubt we will be ordering from here in the future. Got a flyer through the door, so decided to try it. I ordered a pizza (plus other things) and asked them to hold an item. The staff were a little abrupt, but I think it's because they were busy (still no excuse). They gave me a time frame for the delivery and quoted the price. The flyer says "free delivery on orders over £10". They said that it was an old menu, but they would honour the price this time. The food arrived quicker than stated, and was well presented, and exactly as ordered. The hot food was hot, and the cold was cold. The topping on the pizza was well distributed, better than another pizza franchise in the area...

Today, we visited with family, and I have to say, the experience was disappointing. The peri peri burger was just okay and didn't live up to the hype. We also ordered a half peri peri chicken, but what we received looked more like a quarter portion. To make matters worse, it was completely tasteless and incredibly tough to chew. I’ve never encountered a dish quite like it, and I certainly don’t plan on ordering it again. I absolutely cannot recommend it.
