Vetro Lounge — Restaurant in Rotherham

Well we're do I start, from beginning to end service was not good.Girl that was serving behind bar didn't really come across as someone who should work in that profession. She looked like she didn't wanna be there. I could see her frustration when my friend changed his mind about his flat bread. They wasn't busy, so it wasn't cos she was run off her feet it was dead in there. Meeting her while ordering was the start out bad experience , Food was Luke warm not hot. Our meals were served 4 minutes apart. A few no no's I noticed was manager guy was wiping tables with cloth n antibacterial he went straight to pick up my plate from the serving window without washing his hands first. my friends curry was just... warm his rice was allover the bowl on the side. Looked like it had been thrown from a distance and not gone we're it should've been (down in the bottom of the bowl) . My lamb koftes was really dry inside. To me it felt like they was that dry due to a microwave warming them up. I could be wrong. But saying that the food was OK. Was it worth what they charged maybe not iv had better ones from mediocre takeaways in Rotherham and that says alot. So when ordering our deserts. The manager guy went for my desert plate and I saw him wipe something off my plate with his hand. A 7 year old knows you wipe plates with a clean towel not using Yr hand, my chocolate torte was 7/10 but was tiny for the money. Now let's talk about my friends trifle £5.95 for a small trifle like that I felt robbed. Did nobody let the cooks know in the kitchen Yr meant to clean the rims of the plates before they go in the window to be served. Saying all that the decor was nice and also dog friendly which is good also. Iv been as honest as I can be here. I was told good things about vetro maybe we went on a bad night but anybody who knows a good restaurant there good from opening to shutting time everyday. My friend is messaged this morning now he's had time to think about it and he said I'll never go again.Iv gotta say overall it's a 4/10. It's not just food what makes a good restaurant it's the whole experience and iv gotta say vetro just don't have it they failed the test big time. It's a shame. I will be back I need to know for sure if it was just an off night. I didn't tell them I was a Google reviewer because I wanted them all to operate how, they would normally so that was successful.i...

Came in with my family tonight and my little ones and sat directly in front of where the kitchen send out food as the children like watching the food coming out. We have been a number of times now and the atmosphere is always amazing, the staff are lovely and it’s a great new venue. There was a lady on tonight with a face like thunder, you could tell she did not want to be there. We heard her being so rude to other staff and swearing around the customers. I haven’t seen her before but was appalled by her behaviour and the way she spoke to staff, it was so unprofessional and made what would have been a lovely meal feel very uncomfortable. My husband wanted to stay and order another beer after his meal and the kids were going to have dessert so we werent really in a rush to leave but decided against this when we saw her behind the bar and he felt too awkward to go and order. She was snapping at a few members of staff, is this person in charge!!? I really hope not she is a terrible representative of what would have been a lovely restaurant otherwise. The rest of the staff were so polite, friendly and approachable they could not do enough for us and the food was lovely but she really did ruin the whole atmosphere. I don’t think we will be taking the kids again for a while, clearly not as family friendly...

It’s a lovely addition to Rotherham and is gorgeously decorated! Staff were all lovely etc. The only complaint was the chicken and squid were cold (seen a few comments about cold food so I’m certain this is just a teething problem at the beginning of being so new). The hummus was the best I’ve ever had, and the quesadillas/patatas bravas were amazing.

Looking forward to coming back on a Friday evening and having a few cocktails and tapas ( I am sure next time it will be perfect 👌) Note staff did offer us replacement food for the cold tapas! Staff all super nice ☺️☺️
