This pub used to be a favourite for us... the ales were fantastic and the choice and range extremely good, but this pub is letting itself down on other levels. The fires are never lit, even in winter on freezing cold days. Sundays are being taken over by people with very young noisy children. It seems they would rather the heating bill be spent on the outdoor heaters for the smokers than for paying customers sat inside. Had to keep my coat on and went home to sit by my own roaring fire as my legs got cold sitting in the pub. Wondered why we bothered leaving the house. TV seems to have taken the place over too. If you like a beer/ale or a cider the choice is more than adequate, usually 12 + available brands, at pints costing less than £4.50, IMO very reasonable. For those who member they serve Brew XI (Mitchells & Butlers) on a semi regular basis. They have quality cold food, again priced very reasonably.
