Such a shame! I used to visit the didsbury location a lot and their food and atmosphere was absolutely amazing. Coming here to try again after that, the atmosphere really does not match. It's full of people drinking and the seats are really uncomfortable and dirty (probably from spilled alcohol) which is not where you'd want to eat as a Muslim.
The menu has been hugely condensed, they don't even serve some basic things like batata harra. Even so, I ordered the chicken musakan and the loaded Gazan fries. The musakan has lost all the flavouring it used to have and the bread was really small. It's like theyve just stopped using spice completely. The chicken was also cooked too much which previously was so soft. The loaded Gazan fries were not good at all, a lot of fat on the chicken which just made it uncomfortable to eat. Such a shame to what it's become. I feel like it's lost it's touch since they moved...
Read moreI go to this place regularly. I went for food here today and ordered the chicken loaded shawarma fries, 3 bites into my food I feel a sharp pain in the roof of my mouth which I then find is a 5-6cm long sharp bone stuck in the roof of my mouth. I took my plate back with the bone and Rafeel decided this was amusing as he was telling me he knows how I’m feeling right now and laughed about it. I then had to ask him what was funny about the situation which he repeatedly replied I know how your feeling continuously laughing. I then asked how this ends up in the food and does he not check the food before it goes out as he was cooking the food which he didn’t have an answer for but still thought was funny. Rafeel didn’t even apologise for what had happened. Clearly a lack of care for customers. Service is a 0/10 and I definitely won’t be...
Read moreI had Musakhan a dish of two pieces of on the bone chicken, a flat bread covered in roasted onions and a dip. It was surprisingly bland w none of the distinctive spicing of that area at all. The bread had all the appeal and texture of a supermarket naan, at £16 an attempt at fresh bread would be nice. This is imitation Arabic food in a city with a host of excellent options from that part of the world. I would strongly suggest you go to a similar restaurant that serves its own community and eat far better and cheaper. Another nail in the coffin of the second wave...
