I wanted to wait a couple of weeks after the shop had opened as it has been so busy and they have queues waiting for tables every evening so that must be a good sign! I'd read the reviews in the meantime and people were saying it's amazing or terrible. Those with negative reviews had mainly been around how long they had to wait for a table or their food which when a new place has been busy as it has been you have to be fair and cut them a bit of slack. I wanted to try this place out for myself so we went on a Thursday evening just after 6pm and we got seated within 5mins. They had a wide ranging menu and to be honest it was ideal if someone felt like eating a pizza or a burger or some peri chicken or a chicken parmesan it ticks all the boxes and on top of that it's a really nice set up with great seating and really clean. The food came within 15 mins from us ordering at the till and we were pleasantly surprised considering we expected a longer wait. We were given a buzzer which went off when the food was ready and we picked up from the designated area. The food was amazing and everyone loved it! Pizza was so good and so was having the option of adding a cheese crust! The grilled lamb chops and peri wings had a good kick to them (hot flavour for the peri wings). The price was more than reasonable for all the food we got and the portion sizes are great value for money. If you have a family or a group of friends who all want something different to eat, this is the place to go! I look forward to returning and trying some of the different items on the menu. P.S. they have all non-boycott drinks and a prayer room upstairs with wudu facilities in each of the male/female bathrooms! All in all this place ticks alot of boxes and backs it up with their food! This is the go to place in Cheetham Hill and I would highly recommend it to everyone to try it for themselves! I've taken photos of all the menu as it is literally like a book so apologies for the mass photos but thought people may appreciate...
Read moreI have been to frangoz in Halifax and Bradford for many years and was excited it was coming to Manchester however they made a terrible mistake... manchester is known for spicy chicken burgers and frangoz menu states spicy burger which is NOT a manchester style spicy burger in fact its a kfc zinger burger style ,they need to adjust there menu so mot to cause any confusion as so many people like me probably ordered that thinking its spicy like what we're use to but it's that horrible zinger non dipped burger 2nd thing they messed up on is the price ,frangoz was known for affordable price which matched the quality eg a boneless box use to be £4 in the other branch in halifax but here in manchester its a whopping £9 that's more than double 125% increase!!! Eye watering Same with 12" pizza frangoz special was £5.69 now £11 in manchester (94% increase) I know prices have gone up but this is madness and very daring already after a few weeks the shop is mostly quiet now and people have realised.
Also what's so annoying is if you buy the chicken fillet burger on it own to make that into a manchester style spicy dip burger its 20p extta so you would expect to make the chicken burger in the loaded or boneless box into a spicy dip burger to be 20p extra but NO its a whopping £2.50 extra where other places don't even charge a penny to choose what flavour you would like your burger Charging £2.50 for somthing that should be free or 20p more its madness and exploitation You can clearly on the menu the price difference between a plain chciken burger and a spicy dip burger is 20p what makes you justify charging £2.50.
I personally think you should scrap the spicy aka as zinger burger off your menu to not cause any confusion and just have normal and spicy dip aka 'spicy' (manchester style) , add some offers to bring back more customers and also add home delivery to survive in a foodie city...
Read moreWe visited Frangoz today and, unfortunately, the experience was appalling from start to finish. The food was extremely poor, and the customer service left a lot to be desired.
When we arrived, there were no staff members in sight to greet or assist us. Eventually, someone appeared, but she seemed more interested in her phone than in helping us. We ordered parmos and loaded fries, and when I politely asked if I could swap one of the sides, she looked at me as if I was stupid, huffed, and bluntly said "no." There was no friendliness or basic courtesy.
Despite the restaurant being empty, we waited over 35 minutes for our food. During that time, we could hear shouting from the back—what sounded like a dispute between staff. One staff member was loudly saying that someone was doing something to her and that she was going to scream. It was highly unprofessional and made the environment feel chaotic and uncomfortable.
When our food arrived, the chicken parmo was incredibly disappointing. It tasted like a frozen chicken burger, deep-fried and topped with cheese—definitely not what you expect when ordering a parmo. The chicken became so tough after just a few minutes that it was nearly impossible to eat. If you’re going to include this dish on the menu, it should be made properly and with care.
The loaded fries were acceptable, so I went to ask for a takeaway container. I stood at the counter for five minutes while the staff member ignored me. When I finally said "excuse me," she huffed, slammed a bag on the counter aggressively, and glared at me like I was being a nuisance.
To make matters worse, after eating, we’ve felt unwell and nauseous—raising serious concerns about food hygiene and safety.
This visit was not just disappointing; it was uncomfortable and frustrating. We would strongly advise others to think twice before spending...
