Brilliant indian food showcasing the real taste of India! Four of us (two couples) visited this new restaurant last night & were served by Dee... he was very welcoming, polite, & informative - giving recommendations when asked for starters (some not on the menu as menu in process of being updated) & gave information about each dish we were served... We started with small pops & different dips to the norm (all amazingly good!), followed by four starters (a couple served on skewers from golden pots, then we shared 3 curries, two different rices, & a bowl of chips, & accompanied with a garlic, coriander, & chilli naan... Our three curries were lamb madras, chicken rogan josh, & chicken dopyaza... you could choose your 'hotness' strength for each! The two ladies shared a bottle of wine & us two blokes had pints of cobra... All the above came to under ÂŁ100 for four people at a sit in new restaurant, which we thought was excellent value for money! This food, taste, & serving style is different to the standard indian restaurants, but in a very good way... This place offers traditional indian cuisine, that is wonderfully tasty, & at a reasonable price - we will definitely be back soon... We highly recommended this new indian restaurant - amazing!

I was fortunate enough to stumble upon this restaurant before its official opening and had the pleasure of sampling their exquisite menu. The dishes were subtle yet deeply satisfying, with spices that brought out an aromatic richness, perfectly capturing the essence of authentic delicacies in India I started with the samosa chaat, chicken malai, and tikka – all of which were appetizing and delectable. For the main course, I indulged in the butter chicken, though I was too busy enjoying the meal to remember to snap a photo! The owner’s passion for the food was evident, especially in the way he emphasized both quality and affordability. A special mention goes to the sesame oil garlic chili sauce he serves, a staple from the state of Gujarat, India, that added a delightful kick to the meal.

Interesting new Indian dining experience in Walkden, amazing food and genuinely intimate atmosphere, the owners are happy to talk through their menu and also their visions for the restaurant. Looking forward to seeing how everything develops. Second visit - menu improving, presentation better and Indian dessert, keep up the good work guys, I remembered to take photos this time ☺️ Third visit: Decor totally revamped and a whole new menu, this place just keeps getting better - the new massala popudoms are great to start, and the Goan vindaloo, whilst hot as you’d expect, has an amazing depth of flavour.

Check what you are paying on the card machine to avoid being ripped off like we were last night. They cannot be trusted. It was too cold in the restaurant so found it difficult to relax & we were the only ones in the restaurant for an early booking. I’ve scored a very generous 2 for the food because 2 out of 3 of us found their food below average and edible. They only have 2 white wine options which is very poor so even though it was my birthday meal I had a Diet Coke & drove. I was told that Chicken methi wasn’t available but they would make me a Dessi curry off menu but it looked & tasted the same as my husband’s which I didn’t enjoy & only ate one mouthful. It had a horrible after taste. The garlic naan was raw and I waited too long for a replacement and it wasn’t much different to the first one so our friend ate it and took my curry home so I left not eaten. I just wanted to get out of there to the comfort of my home !! I’ve read other reviews complaining about it being too cold so they should have additional heaters. We asked for the bill and the correct discount was applied as I booked via the fork App. However when we asked to split 50/50 the waiter took it upon himself to add an additional £9 on the card machine which we hadn’t approved. My friend didn’t notice on his element but my husband questioned it and the waiter should have cancelled the 2nd transaction immediately and entered the correct amount. However it wasn’t even offered and the conversation was going on for too long & I was about to lose my temper so my husband just paid it. This is both dishonest and not acceptable. I suspect this was done intentionally to claw back the 30% discount applied via the fork App. I had high hopes for this new restaurant local to us as we have struggled finding somewhere decent for Indian food. It’s a shame this place resorted to such underhanded tactics and it’s not related to a tip because you have to enter that separately on the card machine. We always tip generously wherever we go but they’ve picked on the wrong people and didn’t account on us noticing. This is classed as fraud & disgraceful so the restaurant owes us a £9 refund and we regret feeling pressured to pay it because the waiter just stood there playing dumb but he knew exactly what he’d done. If this place is that desperate for £9 then shame on them but I definitely don’t recommend this place and advise anyone paying by card to double check that they are not being ripped off as we were last night.

REFUND RECEIVED WITH THANKS & THE BARCLAY CARD I MENTIONED WAS WHAT MY HUSBAND USED TO PAY. I WAS NOT EXPECTING A FULL REFUND JUST THE OVER CHARGE & MY MEAL BUT WE APPRECIATE...

Having heard good things about Masala Marke we decided to try it out. We were the only 3 people in there and were seated quickly but only given one menu between us. Following our drinks order the waiter had to ask twice if we wanted ice in our daughters drink and then had to come back again to ask for a third time. We ordered our food and was told a few minutes later that one of the starters was unavailable and so we picked another only to be told a minute later that the chef couldn't do that one. So we picked another. 40 minutes later (despite being the only customers in there) I asked if the heating could be turned up as it was freezing in the restaurant and if they knew how long our food would be. We were told it would be ready in a few minutes. 10 minutes later after 50 minutes waiting for our food we got our coats and complained to the staff about the terrible service and ridiculous waiting time for our food with no apology or explanation. They said the reason for the delay was that we had asked for our starters to come out at the same time as the rest of the food and the peshwari naan was taking longer than usual to prepare. They had 3 kitchen staff and 2 front of house staff serving 3 people. I offered to pay for the drinks prior to leaving but the waitress couldn't work out how to do this and so after 3-4 minutes of trying, the waiter told us to leave paying for anything and we left and will never be returning.

Following on from your reply: Thank you for your prompt response. There were a number of issues but I think the main point is that you didn’t inform us or apologise for the delay. We had a 5 year old sat with us waiting 50 minutes for food and were the only people in the restaurant. The standard of service was...
