I want to preface this review by saying that the food from Purple Lounge has always been superb, no issues there whatsoever.
However, after the absolute farce of tonight's delivery I will not be returning to order - I have ordered multiple times takeaways, and dined twice in person - but not again.
I ordered a takeaway, and after almost two hours of no delivery rang to chase it up. First, i was told that the driver had just left and It would be with me momentarily.
Then, after no food for another 45 minutes, I called again and was told that my order "had gone ages ago" and that the driver had delivered it, This was patently not true, and would make no sense as to why I would lie - the driver is just going to come to the same house with a duplicate order?!
They told me they would cook it again, and that I'd have to wait. So I did. While I was waiting, they called back and told me that they had spoken to the driver and they insisted they had delviered to the correct address, had delivered it to a "young girl" (no one lives here but me) and that I was a liar.
I said no, send the same driver and you will see that when they actually get the right house that they had delivered it wrong.
Finally received my order after 3 hours. The food is fine. The service is horrific to a customer who has ordered many times in the past. Never again. I will never order from a place that makes a mistake like that then lies to me, and then calls me dishonest.
Pro tip - don't pay by card, pay by cash, that also stops other scroungers taking your food and getting...

We ordered 2 starters and a main lamb tikka thawwa. Mentioned the order 3 times. The waiter was interested in licking my butt for neing a brown guy rather than focusing on his order taking skills.
Thereās were literally just 2 tables being served. The first starter literally arrives after 35 MINUTES of waiting. Thatās just a starter. The whole food is served after 50 mins of ordering. And guess what? Wrong order! Brought Chicken thawwa š On confirming with the manager i was shocked to find out he had actually taken the wrong order.
I cancelled it and asked for lamb however in literally 2 mins i told him cancel it as we cannot wait further and need to leave. Although we were told it will take some time the manager harshly replied āif you come to a restaurant you should know it takes time to gather thingsā. Lol as if we never dined out and themlongest i had tk wait was 30 mins for the whole food that too in a full and busy restaurant. The managerās behaviour and tone is the most unprofessional and undertrained ive ever witnessed!
Cherry on the top? they made rhe wrong bill. Charged me for 3 starters when i had ordered 2. What if i didnāt check?

Our 2nd order was made on Sunday, after ordering we got a call from the restaurant stating that we should not be ordering from them with allergies. He stated that if we wanted the order we would need to go to the restaurant and sign to state we are happy with the food due to my husbands allergies (?!). We had paid for delivery but apparently this would be refunded, he also stated we could not have the mixed starter. We were not given an alternative and we explained we had the mixed starter on our last order. We collected the order and my husband signed a receipt (?). When we arrived home a main meal was missing from our order. I rang the restaurant and was told again, we should not have ordered with them due to my husbands allergy, we were spoken to extremely rudely and told we would need to go back to the restaurant to collect the rest of the meal. We didn't bother. We are still awaiting refunds for the missing orders and the delivery fee.
