McDonald's — Restaurant in Sandwell

We stopped by McDonald’s over the weekend for a quick bite, and overall, the experience was decent with a few ups and downs.

To begin with, the restaurant itself was surprisingly clean and well-kept, especially considering it was a busy weekend. The floors were tidy, the tables were being wiped down regularly, and the self-order kiosks were working smoothly. It’s always a plus when a fast food place maintains a neat environment — it really sets the tone for the meal.

We ordered our usual — a couple of burgers, some fries, and drinks. The food came out pretty fast, but unfortunately, the fries were a letdown this time. They were noticeably soggy and cold, which was disappointing since McDonald’s fries are usually a highlight. Maybe we caught them in between fresh batches, but still, quality control could’ve been better here.

That said, the staff absolutely stood out. One of the employees noticed we weren’t too thrilled with our fries and actually came over to check if everything was okay. When we mentioned the issue, they offered to replace them without hesitation, which was appreciated. The second batch was only slightly better, but their attitude made a big difference. It’s clear the team was trying their best to make our visit a positive one, and that effort didn’t go unnoticed.

In short, while the food wasn’t perfect, the cleanliness of the restaurant and the genuinely helpful staff made up for it. If the fries had been hot and crispy, it would’ve been a much more satisfying visit. Still, I wouldn’t hesitate to stop by again, especially knowing that the customer service is solid and the place is kept...

placed my order in the drive through to be told they don’t put big mac sauce on a plain double cheese burger 🤯 “ordered this way for years” anyway i asked to speak to the manger and a larger lady approached the window to tell me they don’t do that anymore when i ordered that same order the previous week no issues anyway she rudely tells me that her manger is there so he comes to the window arrogant and patronising telling me it’s down to cost they can’t put sauce on the burger, so i cancelled and went 2 mins up the road and got my order no problems what so ever, last time we came for breakfast here they made us wait in the drive through for over 7 mins and then tell me they ain’t doing breakfast anymore, after a short verbal disagreement her manger told her to do it as she heard my side of the story… this place is a shambles inside is dirty and they toilets stink this used to be the best mcdonald’s for miles… the manager today needs to stop taking advantage of her staff discount 🙄 and the manager who came after her needs to learn to speak to people with respect. just because you’re husband clearly ironed your shirt this morning don’t make you any better then me, i hope you’re proud of yourself being 45+ still working at...

Been to this branch many times over the years, and it's a rare one where I've found the service and food consistently good. The only times they've made mistakes, they've gone in my favour. Like being charged less, or getting extra items in my order.

On this recent visit, I used the app and the table service option to finally try the Big Arch burger meal with fries. Also saw the Spicy Chicken McNuggets were back so got a sharebox of those, and a small portion of Chilli Cheese Bites. For drinks, I opted for a standard Coke Zero, my daughter went for the Mango Passionfruit X Sprite.

Service was fairly quick, we weren't waiting too long. The food was put together great, and that Big Arch was surprisingly really good. It's quite a challenge to eat because of the generous amount of sauce, but it's that sauce which elevates the flavour so much.

The restaurant is fairly clean and tidy, has convenient parking with it's own little lot and a huge free supermarket carpark right next to it. I've used the Drive-Thru a few times too and...
