New desi junction — Restaurant in Sandwell

The Great Lion is finally open (formally the Desi Junction). Had a wonderful evening here. They have fully refurbished the inside and it looks amazing. So many different seating areas to choose from. I would say it is more of a restaurant and bar now, instead of a pub. I think there is seating for about 300 people to dine. There are loads of TV screens up, so will be great place to watch the football, cricket and other sports now in West Bromwich. There is also a new seating area out the back. Ordered a few different items off the menu and everything was freshly cooked and tasted delicious. They have put a large windows in so you can see straight into the kitchen, which is a nice touch. The service of the food and drinks was great and all the staff are friendly. Will definitely be visiting...

Sure evenings were ruined & parties thrown down the drain but on 03/02/2024 the evacuation was due to no fault of their own. Electric meter which belongs to the electric supplier & no contractor is licensed to touch had a fault internally which caused it to over heat, smoke & set the fire board alight which was right behind it. Main switch had to be knocked off & building had to be evacuated for those reasons.

Unfortunately fire brigade had to be called out to put the suspected fire out (which ended up being a red glow in such an awkward place). After the fire brigade dealt with that side of it we were then able to make it safe

Went here last night for an impromptu meal with my wife and I can honestly say I was astounded by the quality and amount of food and customer service for a cheap reasonable price of £25. We had two main meals with two sides of Nana, two drinks all for under £30 which is unheard of in the UK in 2024. The place was so nice and decorated, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. You the only reason I didn’t give five stars atmosphere because it was Monday night and it was dead quiet and that’s just me being honest, but that is absolutely no fault of the business whatsoever, thank you so...
