The Myvod — Restaurant in Sandwell

Just stumbled across this place yesterday. I was impressed with being greeted at the door, offered sanitizer and directed to a table, which were all well spaced and the whole place was really clean. Not what I have been used to with my local high street brand chain pub, that's for sure. Next came the menu, I chose the breakfast and oh my goodness, the bacon actually tasted like bacon instead of this wafer then, stripped back, flavorless miniscule excuses for bacon Iv been stuck with locally, the eggs were cooked to perfection etc, lovely, but what really impressed me was the genuine friendliness and level of professionalism of the staff, especially the young lady who took my order, talked me through some options, delivered the food to my table etc ..Shout out to 'Star' (Hope I got that right, I took the time to ask another member of staff for her name I was so impressed) I will shortly drive a few minutes to this same pub for a late brunch, as having experienced this place I will never again darken the doorway of previously mentioned well known high street discount pub chain lol. ps the outdoor tables at the back are great for a lazy coffee and us horrid...

Not enough staff. The two behind the bar were also serving and clearing tables. One member very nervous and untrained on the tills leading a lengthy to take the order. Had to enquire where was 1 of the 3 starters were, as only 2 brought out, and when he went to fetch it brought out the main meals instead. We had even finished the 2 starters and not had the 3rd. Mains arrived within a good time after finishing the starters but 45 minutes after clearing the mains pudding hadn't been brought out. During this time the manager had arrived and was helping to serve and clear tables as was extremely busy. When asked where were the puddings was told they would be out as soon as they could as they were busy. After 15 more minutes I asked again where were they to be told they couldn't locate the order and asked what was missing so it could be brought out. After another 10 mins they appeared and the manager offered a refund for the puddings. I explained to him all the issues we had faced during our visit to which he apologised. There were other diners there who were experiencing similar issues to us

On previous visits, never really any issues, so would say this was staff...

Went for Christmas dinner, starter came out quickly and was OK,unfortunately we had a 45 minute wait for our main, even though the waitress was lovely, I had to go up the bar to tell them I was still waiting for the main.We were offered a free drink because of the wait. When the main arrived my partners meal was terrible, he had the beef rib,it was full of fat and jelly like substance,he couldnt eat it. Mine and my sons Meal wasn't much better(turkey dinner) the pigs I blankets were burnt, the stuffing had a weird taste and was black. The Yorkshire puddings were dry,the only things I enjoyed were the parsnips and turkey. The puddings were nice (we three treats) but unfortunately they bought the wrong pudding for my partner,also there were alot of drunk loud people in the bar,so overall it wasn't a very good experience for me.
