Sure Bread Meats Bread is a bit of a chain but I felt it’s worth sharing some thoughts on the place and this restaurant in particular. This being a gourmet burger place a rich and adventurous burger menu is something of a given, a well cooked burger of more than adequate quality is not. That’s why my test is always a basic burger, chips (fries), and a milkshake. In this Bread Meats Bread is about as close to exceptional as I’m likely to find a place. The patty was thick, well cooked, and great quality meat. Chips are a bit of a crowning glory and the shake was one of the best I’ve had in a while, absolutely not just cheap liquidised ice cream.
The few points I would like to say about the food are that the burger is pretty heavy on the pickle which some people (definitely not me) may dislike. Personally I was extremely happy with the level of pickle. The amount of sauce I was less happy with. Sauce was a little excessive but with the patty size I can somewhat forgive it. All in all the food is of a pretty high standard. Beware that this is not McDonalds though and the quality comes with a price premium. Which brings me to this restaurant in particular.
Being just across the road from the botanical gardens this is a pretty good place to top off a good day out. The restaurant is bright and welcoming with a pleasant atmosphere. Staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing. As a little treat on a day out Bread Meats Bread in the West End is just...

Although my below review points still stand, unfortunately my absolute favourite dish in the U.K., the Vegan Fried Chicken Burger (seitan) is no longer a feature, and as a result the menu has been significantly depleted of quality options as a result. Although the new B12 option is available, this choice is really not in line with the quality that was on offer with ‘real’ vegan offerings such as the seitan burger, and so it is with great regret that I have no choice but to update and lower the score of my review.

Jade showed us to a nice table in a booth indoors although as it was a lovely day we could have eaten at a table outside on the pavement. It wasn't too crowded so plenty of room for social distancing. Douglas took our drinks order of 2 large diet cokes and we checked out the menu. We have eaten here before so knew that the portion sizes wouldn't be tiny. My husband chose the "Sunshine on Beef", which consisted of a generous beef patty with pulled BBQ Pork and Pickle on a bun and I ordered the "Challoumi Burger", which was a chicken breast + 2 slices of halloumi cheese, bacon and BBQ sauce with some ordinary cheese also on a bun. We also asked for a portion of skin on chips and a side of red cabbage coleslaw to share. The service by both Douglas and Jade were good, polite but not hovering too much. The price of £35.75p was quite reasonable...
