I've visited Loop and Scoop several times, but sadly, tonight confirmed that it’s gone down hill. This visit will be my last, as the experience was deeply disappointing and highlighted a shocking lack of basic cleanliness and organisation.
The premises were visibly dirty, with the floor caked in mud. The state of the toilets was appalling—grime had accumulated on the tiles under the hand dryers, there was no soap in the dispensers, and the water was freezing cold. These are fundamental hygiene issues that should never be overlooked.
The staff's handling of food and hygiene raised serious concerns. The girl who took our order had chocolate-covered hands, creating a clear cross-contamination risk as she handled food and money without proper handwashing. Her uniform was visibly soiled with food stains, adding to the overall impression of poor standards.
She also failed to process our order, requiring us to follow up twice. Despite being seated on ground level, we were overlooked for nearly 25 minutes as other patrons came and went with their orders. This level of neglect is not acceptable.
When our order finally arrived, it was far from satisfactory. The churros were cold, and the dipping sauce was solid. We were never provided with receipts, further reflecting a lack of basic customer service.
Overall, this was a terrible experience. The lack of cleanliness and professionalism, compounded by a staff comprised of seemingly untrained teenagers, is deeply worrying. This is not just a disappointment; it is a serious health and safety concern. I cannot in good...
Read moreVisited Loop & Scoop yesterday with my family. Upon entry I was told to get a face mask on before I will be served, (understandable due to current situation). However, customers before me, and customers who went in after me were not all wearing a mask. Felt like this was a pick and choose situation. Even their delivery driver was standing at the side of the counter with no face covering.
I asked to try the Parma Violets ice-cream and Shelly, who was serving me couldn't have shown more rudeness if she tried! rolled her eyes so far back she could probably read the label inside the back of her head!
After sampling the Parma Violets I asked to sample the After Eight ice-cream. Much to my disgust and shock, Shelly grabbed the used spoon out of my hand and gave it a rinse under the tap and used the SAME spoon to give me a sample of the ice-cream. For all anyone knows, I could have been positive with Covid-19 and infected the whole batch of ice-cream.
I would advise Shelly that if she does not like dealing with public then maybe have another sit down with her careers advisor! Very rude & ABRUPT!
Sad fact is, the ice-cream is nice but the service is awful. We drove all the way from the other side of the city as well just to try it out.
If management would like to look into this then my order no was 822, date of transaction...
Read moreHave always been big fan of Loop n Scoop and been a go too , when around Great Western Road. Last night though the service was incredibly poor . It was evident that orders were being pushed through the till , with no consideration of the turn around time . We were told would be ready in 10 minutes. Around 30 minutes later I enquired about my order number. A box of churros were launched through the service area . Just chucked into the box. This is not how they were normally presented ‘ served. I further enquired about the other items, informed they were on their way. I complained to the manager , he openly said 30 ministers is a fairly normal time to wait, so why then were we told 10 minutes! Expressed that they prioritised getting the orders through the till, with no consideration on turn around time . If we were told 30 minute wait , that’s fine , we would have left. The staff were servicing the indoor/ upstairs / outdoor seating areas , fulfilling delivery orders through the hatch whilst making people stand and wait for the orders. It was ridiculous !
Either staff the place adequately or show consideration to the customer on the realistic...
