Annaya's Indian - Helensburgh — Restaurant in Scotland

I had the pleasure of eating at this wonderful restaurant tonight it's hard to find fault with all elements of the deal .

We picked the nearest place to stay at loch lomond it was a 10 min drive or so we can't believe how lucky we have been . I have already told 3 people how good it was in the first few hours .

I have eaten in Indian restaurants for over 35 years on a regular basis and sometimes the food just merging into each part can mean you are happy but not excited.

That was not the case here the staff where very pleasant and attentive . The food was wonderful fresh and warm when served the portion size was good . Another point I note more and more when I sit into a place I have never been in the place felt clean everywhere I looked I was able to see into the kitchen again it looked and felt clean but also the staff looked happy and relaxed this definitely travels thru the overall experience .

I had veg and chicken pakora cooked perfectly with lovely batter that was just right side of soft with the 4 lovely dips which were again perfect in the balance and texture

We on the owners advice settled for mango chicken tikka it was just wonderful both dishes (starter and main ) had brilliant side salads light fresh and refreshing . We had a garlic nan to accompany the meal. It's lucky there was no pattern on the plate as I fear I would have ate that also .

Overall it was a pleasure to vist and eat here and it will not be the last time we vist it will be worth the 2 hour drive .

It truly was a 5 star meal it's a long time since we had a meal like this and all things considered excellent value for money

We are frequent visitors to Helensburgh but had never been to this restaurant until Wednesday, 23rd of August, 2023.

We were looking at the premises and menu at the outside when a very kind and lovely lady told us that she recommended Annaya's and she came to Helensburgh once a year and always made sure she went to Annaya's for a meal. Indeed, she had just been in to book a table for 6:00pm.

We decided to go in and take a chance that there was a table available (this was at 5:00pm-ish). We were given a table right away and the gentleman in the restaurant was superb at explaining the daily specials, of which there was a large selection. My parents and I ended up ordering a dish from the daily specials board and we were thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food. The chicken melted in the mouth, so tender, just like the gentleman said it would be. My Dad's sea bass was two large fillets of sea bass and looked lovely and he enjoyed it very much!

The restaurant was lovely, very clean toilets and impeccable service. For a Wednesday it was very busy which took us a bit by surprise and as soon as people left, other people arrived to take their place!
