This is a pleasant bar with a lovely beer garden, useful for smokers and just for a drink in the open air.
However, some weeks ago I was refused a drink at the bar. When I asked the reason, I was told the Manager had seen me "snatch the mike" from the professional girl musician. This was utterly untrue. I wanted to try playing my fiddle along with this girl who herself handed me the mike. We didn't actually find a tune that we both knew, so the attempt fizzled out. After waiting for a very small amount of time we explained our situation and asked if we could have a seat at the bar until it was time to be seated for our reservation time, no problem. We got our drinks and sat down. After a few minutes we were asked if we wanted to be seated now, it was very busy and I was expecting to wait maybe 15 minutes or so, it was our fault so I was prepared.    Read moreWent in yesterday 28/8/20 for the first time since lockdown, and although there are a few changes in place for everyone's safety I quite liked the fact that I was shown to a booth where your drink is brought to your table and you can settle your bill before you leave. I do still miss the times before Covid when I used to go in after work and the buzz of being able to stand at the bar with mates and enjoy the banter.
