Outstanding hotel and service. If me and my partner could rate this place any higher we would! If at Fort Augustus again on our travels without a doubt this place will be booked again and recommend.
Sam and Glenn are such a lovely sweet couple, very down to earth, thoughtful and kind, provided such a brilliant experience.
Hotel was spotlessly clean and fresh. Such a beautiful homely touch within the home and made to feel very welcome, everything had its own special touch...The coat hanger on the door was a beautiful stag ( i now want one for our home ) provided a hairdryer, beautiful Scottish touch with tartan Roman blinds and plate sets. Homemade bread, and freshly cooked breakfast. Porridge came with cinnamon and honey, and the honey came in a little pot with a dipper which was a very pretty little touch ( also want one for home use lol )and a little cute butter dish perfect for two people.
Partner had a fry up for breakfast which was very well cooked and the home made bread was the best bread I have ever tried. I'm not a big bread fan but I'd be easily converted if I had this around ...was very yummy.
Had a pretty garden with outside seating and a huge umbrella, flowers etc but we didnt use sadly due to our Scottish weather... rain rain rain. Very peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. Shower room had a rain shower and a normal shower which was very powerful, sanitary bags which I thought was a nice little touch also. Bed was very comfortable, lots of cushions.
I would pick this a thousand times over a hotel such as Hilton hotel or similar ....the homely touch was just something else. Special...
Read moreWe were visiting Fort Augustus down by the canal locks watching the boats come up and we looked at signs for a cafe just beyond the canal shops and restaurants. We wanted to explore so we left the crowds and headed up to Beaufort House. Are we ever happy we did!
Just 16 days ago the B&B also became a cafe. And what a jewel it is. Everything is freshly cooked - even the tortillas for the beef chilli & triple bean chilli. The deserts were fabulous and are only £2 a slice.
It's so great when you can find something new before most people. We live in Fort William, just a 40 minute drive away, which is a perfect drive in the future to bring people with us and have a wander around the town.
We sat outside in the back through the side entrance. There were four large wooden umbrella tables and the 5 of us sat comfortably. The main entrance takes you to an indoor seating area with 5 or 6 tables. Sam the host/owner served us beverages and thefood came out fast and hot.
Two of us ordered a Triple bean chilli & Beef chilli with fresh cooked tortillas and soured cream in a container. It was superb and I really mean that. There was a good kick to the chilli as the 2 pepper image indicated. This was not spaghetti sauce if you know what I mean.
I never ate the deserts the other three ordered - I was full after the chilli. The deserts though were delicious and moist to the folks eating them and everyone was trying each others food.
We will be back soon and have already let out the news that there is a little hidden gem in Fort Augustus...
Read moreWonderful, well cooked pizza with interesting and speciality toppings. It gets really busy as it’s small, so always best to book - we saw many disappointed people turned away as there was no room. The hostess and the chef clearly work hard to make their business and customers happy, and it’s clear they are passionate. The place is spotless and really cute. The pizza I had, the Beaufort, was so wonderfully gloopy, with just amazing toppings - I kept demolishing it even after I was full (although I saw some other folks take away their remaining slices for enjoyment the next day!). I love the fact that they keep the menu small and purposeful - and delicious. Well worth popping into for dinner if you’re around here - but as I say, book as it gets super busy...
