Not be confused with the Loch Ness gate house “house “sharing the car park ( think they are the same company?) No breakfast included so unless you’re in the house part maybe that was included and we should have gone over there? Very unclear when checking in as there were no welcome notes in the room for us Car park is found ( no details given on this had to work this out ) by driving past the cafes on the front following the one way and finding it secreted around the back- we couldn’t check in til 3pm , called on arrival at 2.10pm and a very abrupt man said 3pm!!! So not a very friendly welcome there . Key card for the rooms are in a locked pad by the back door of the cafe so not the most attractive entrance with all the smell of the cafes and the car park on arrival was filled with Rabbies small buses who weren’t keen to move for us .rooms very small , We had room on the front - I’d ask for canal facing if booking as the other 4 rooms directly overlook the smell and noise at the back . This all goes quiet from 4pm though. Rooms immaculately clean , powerful shower , iron ,hairdryer all there , beds a bit soft but nice and clean . Very disappointed for the cost of £160 a night that there was no breakfast. Great location if you want to be right on the loch watching the boats but we did see much nicer accommodation around the back roads with lovely views. Limited eating out options so we tried the Mooring (Turkish/English) would recommend that place - the 2 “ pubs” both had limited tables and were full each time we passed lots of outside seating but as you know Scotch weather doesn’t bring the sun for the most part . Point to make is take lots of money as it’s very pricey- coach loads of tourists are buses here daily so businesses have a captive market and can charge what they like - two sandwiches, 2 small cakes and 2 hot drinks £37 - same everywhere. Evening meals bit more reasonable at around £60 for two meals and 2 drinks There’s a lovely walk around the outskirts of the Boathouse( restaurant at the end of the canal path by the Loch Ness boat hire hut) that goes through woods and gardens which most of the other tourists didn’t seem to know about so that’s worth a walk as it goes right by the banks of the Loch We also did a speed boat tour and regardless of the weather take loads of layers and a hat - great experience but very very cold as it...

This has been one of the worst travel experiences of our lives, and I strongly urge anyone reading this to avoid this property completely.
The check-in window was from 17:00 to 21:00. Due to unforeseen travel complications, we were running slightly late. At 20:00, I made several attempts to contact the property—by phone and message—but received no reply whatsoever.
When we arrived with our baby daughter and my wife, exhausted after a long journey, we found ourselves completely stranded in the dark. There was a sign on the door with a phone number for someone called Liam, who never answered the phone. On the entrance gate, there were several lockboxes with four-digit codes. It would have been incredibly easy and basic customer care to simply send a message with the name of the box and the code. But they did not even bother to do that. Not a single word.
We were left outside, at night, with a baby, and no way in.
It showed a complete lack of empathy and responsibility. The area was isolated, there was nowhere nearby to seek help or shelter, and the staff were entirely absent and unreachable. We were left in an extremely vulnerable situation due to sheer negligence.
This is not just poor service—it is inhumane and shameless. Until then, if you value your safety, dignity and peace of mind, stay far, far away...
Read moreWe booked 4 nights and left after 3 because we just couldn't take it anymore. The location was great for day tripping to all the spots we'd picked out. But the size of the room and the noise were just unbearable.
Everything was loud, the doors, the floors, the fans, the people on the street, the people in the other rooms, the cafe below, the tea kettles... EVERYTHING! The walls must be made of sound amplifying material. We could hear people sit on their beds, make tea, snore, flush, shower, talk, walk....EVERYTHING!
The room was so small I had to rearrange all the furniture to be able to open 2 suitcases.
The staff communication was spotty, sometimes with no response at all.
With a 4 night stay, they only left 1 night's worth of in room amenities (coffee, tea, milk, sugar, towels, etc.).
The heater never worked even with assistance. The towel warmer never worked. And we figured out how to open the windows but had to get a lesson on how to close them. It was so complicated, there should be in room instructions.
In the end, we made our choice to leave and requested a refund for the one night. The owner cited their no refund policy and refused. Although that is certainly their right, it was just another example of their poor customer service. They also claimed to have never received such poor feedback before, which seems unlikely given all the previous...
