We visit Bianco Nero regularly but our past two visits have been really disappointing and I’m afraid we won’t be back. Our most recent visit was today, Sunday morning, the place wasn’t as busy as it normally is, we found a table no problem at all, ordered our food at 10:30am our hot drinks arrived quickly and we were finished them in 35 minutes, our food still hadn't arrived which is unusual for this place, we waited another 10 minutes before approaching the counter to ask about our order as we had an appointment to be at at 12, our food was being plated. My husband’s full breakfast arrived, that was fine, my chorizo Benedict arrived, which is supposed to be poached eggs (see photo) I ordered this without avocado, it came with avocado and stone cold. I returned my plate and asked for a refund which I was given, no apology, no compassion, no explanation. Comparing all this to our first visit to cafe 77 down the road who are extremely busy with queues outside still manage to deliver top customer service and communication. Overall really disappointed with the service and the staff today which is a shame as this once was our favourite...
Read moreI walked by and saw the "award winning ice cream" sign in the window so I thought I'd treat myself to a takeaway. It was February, not the height of the ice cream season, however they were advertising how good their ice cream was. There were only 2 flavours on offer due to "low stock" but I liked one of them (Scottish tablet) so I ordered 2 scoop tub to takeaway. The price was £3.26. not cheap, not overly expensive either. What I was given was the 2 smallest scoops I've ever seen, it was quite laughable actually (see picture). I was staring at them so the young waiter asked if everything was ok. I said that it was an extremely small portion and was that correct, his reply was "yeah, that's it". I stated my disappointment and walked out. The ice cream itself was reasonably good but it had that icy/crystally bite to it, like it had been there for some time. University Cafe on Byres rd or Esplanade Cafe in Greenock are far, far, superior in quality,...
Read moreUnfortunately we had a really poor experience Saturday morning.
Ordered coffee and breakfast for three. The white in the fried egg roll was still jelly like and only lightly cooked underneath. This was taken away after we pointed it out. Then the same roll was then returned with the same egg overdone on both sides and mottled with black bits. My daughter had to wait an additional 20 minutes for pancakes as they advised us they had burned the first batch. The second batch they served were completely raw in the middle. Oozing raw pancake mix. She eventually had her breakfast 40 minutes after mine was served. The waitress was polite and apologetic and said she would give my daughter a slice of cake to go. But then disappeared.
In hindsight I wish I had asked for a refund as it was over £30 for breakfast rolls, pancakes and coffee. It was not busy, and I appreciate the kitchen can make mistakes, but the overall experience...
