Staff were lovely, drinks were excellent and far superior to any cocktails we'd had elsewhere.

I did however feel harrassed by the 4 phone calls from Bruach in the days leading up to our booking. I booked online weeks before only to recieve a call to say we had to pay £5 to secure the booking. If this is necessary then add it to booking. Paying £5 was no problem as it was returned to us s as soon as we arrived. Before we were seated they asked us how long we intended to stay and again 3 more times in the 3 hours we were there! This is harrasement and made us feel most unwelcome. There were tables empty behind and beside us. We then were told as we were handed the bill that we could stay longer if we wished by which time we had decided we were leaving seeing as they made us uncomfortable. This was supposed to be a lovely relaxing time however it was spoilt by not knowing if we were going to asked to leave! This is most innappropriate way to treat paying guests and I really don't understand this as we were at least £40 per round of drinks! I got the impression the bar staff were only relaying what they'd been asked to say, again I find this unfair. So to the Manager...make yourself visable and stop sending others to do your job!

Get your act...

We went for lunch today having been bought a voucher for a birthday present, we decided to choose from the simple lunch menu. Ordered a beer and a cider two steak and fries, one cooked medium and the other rare. All good the drinks arrived, eventually the food arrived the rare steak first followed by the medium a few minutes later, I cut into the 'rare' steak to find that it was bearly saered not even blu! My husband cut into his steak to find a peace of round plastic film, not sure if it was cling film or something thicker. The staff were informed food taken away and eventually returned to our utter amazement the rare steak returned the same and the steak with the plastic was returned reheated and as tough as old boots!! We were told no problem not to worry no charge and the drinks were on the House. I have never been so insulted this was a birthday present and ruined by a bunch of incompetent...

Very busy venue on Saturday night so reservation definitely required. We sat upstairs and found the service from staff to be friendly and attentive without being overbearing.

Starters (risotto and bread with oils) and main meals (duck and steak pie) were very tasty with decent sized portions and well cooked al dente vegetables. The puddings unfortunately were less impressive, apple and raspberry crumble and Affogato both coming with fairly cheap, tasteless vanilla ice cream; if this had used a creamier type it'd have made a lot of difference.

Great selection of drinks available at the bar so had chance to test some whisky that don't often see on menus. The cocktail menu was good, my wife really enjoyed with the Monkey Gone Nuts...

Fantastic dog friendly pub and restaurant in broughty ferry. We stopped in for lunch and were quickly served (although it was fairly quiet). We were also offered a water bowl for our dog. I had haggis and black pudding loaded fries which were absolutely delicious and reasonably priced at £8.50. The portion was perhaps a little small for me, but given it was a lunch menu the portion was probably reasonable.
