On my friends review we was barred from the cafe by the Manager who decided that we was just complaining to receive MONEY back which was Totally untrue, no refund was asked for and no replacement of food was asked for. Main complaint was let's get it right the young gentleman who my friend went to said what do you want me to do with it. The Tuna sandwich just didn't taste right to my friend said No concern at all. Then the Manager said it was only made fresh this morning. Then on her confronting us before barring us trying to embarrass us wouldn't listen to our side. I did say I'd eaten my sandwiche . But she still insisted that she's met people like us before coach trip people who only wants the MONEY back as she was Told it didn't even enter our heads. God help the locals if this is how she treats visiting customers who are encouraged to eat local food and support them, by the coach driver's. Once again I'd like it to be understood No Free lunch Was asked for or even thought about. As I'd said I'd eaten my sandwich with...
Read moreSuch a bad breakfast service. Staff were rude the moment we walked through the door. When I went to order, I found the cafe was out of croissants and avocado toast. No problem. I came back with an alternative order of bagels, and found they were also out of orange juice. After ten minutes, the staff came over to say that they actually had no cream cheese for the bagels. We agreed on butter and Marmite instead. Twenty minutes later when we asked where the bagels were (everything else had come), it became apparent that when the staff said Marmite, they meant marmalade, and didn't actually have Marmite. We had been in the cafe more than 50 minutes by this point and simply left without the bagels. I think these are well meaning people having a bad day, but the entire experience was abysmal and...
Read moreFriendly atmosphere though I am not sure a laminated menu is the modern thing. Surprised that haggis was not included in the Scottish Breakfast but never mind and it was ordered with the ubiquitous tea. Very good service and the breakfast duly followed the pot of tea. I’m not sure I get the Lorne sausage idea but I recognise its place in Scottish tradition. Bacon was very good, I grew up with potato cakes in Lancashire so these are always a treat and the egg was perfect-beans and half tomato were exactly that. The disappointment was the black pudding, part of the slice was tasty enough to know that it was good quality but the other half was completely overcooked/dried out and resembled the rubbers we chewed in our ignorance as infants. Not a bad breakfast but it was a small touch from being so...
