On my friends review we was barred from the cafe by the Manager who decided that we was just complaining to receive MONEY back which was Totally untrue, no refund was asked for and no replacement of food was asked for. Main complaint was let's get it right the young gentleman who my friend went to said what do you want me to do with it. The Tuna sandwich just didn't taste right to my friend said No concern at all. Then the Manager said it was only made fresh this morning. Then on her confronting us before barring us trying to embarrass us wouldn't listen to our side. I did say I'd eaten my sandwiche . But she still insisted that she's met people like us before coach trip people who only wants the MONEY back as she was Told it didn't even enter our heads. God help the locals if this is how she treats visiting customers who are encouraged to eat local food and support them, by the coach driver's. Once again I'd like it to be understood No Free lunch Was asked for or even thought about. As I'd said I'd eaten my sandwich with...

Such a bad breakfast service. Staff were rude the moment we walked through the door. When I went to order, I found the cafe was out of croissants and avocado toast. No problem. I came back with an alternative order of bagels, and found they were also out of orange juice. After ten minutes, the staff came over to say that they actually had no cream cheese for the bagels. We agreed on butter and Marmite instead. Twenty minutes later when we asked where the bagels were (everything else had come), it became apparent that when the staff said Marmite, they meant marmalade, and didn't actually have Marmite. We had been in the cafe more than 50 minutes by this point and simply left without the bagels. I think these are well meaning people having a bad day, but the entire experience was abysmal and...

Friendly atmosphere though I am not sure a laminated menu is the modern thing. Surprised that haggis was not included in the Scottish Breakfast but never mind and it was ordered with the ubiquitous tea. Very good service and the breakfast duly followed the pot of tea. I’m not sure I get the Lorne sausage idea but I recognise its place in Scottish tradition. Bacon was very good, I grew up with potato cakes in Lancashire so these are always a treat and the egg was perfect-beans and half tomato were exactly that. The disappointment was the black pudding, part of the slice was tasty enough to know that it was good quality but the other half was completely overcooked/dried out and resembled the rubbers we chewed in our ignorance as infants. Not a bad breakfast but it was a small touch from being so...

This is a good Cafe and I’d recommend it in preference to Wetherspoons on the pier or Costa coffee at the bus stop next door. Breakfast for example is nicely cooked and the service is friendly. Although prices have increased by 15% to 30% over the past year (depending on the product), the prices are still good value and the same or cheaper for the quality over Wetherspoons or Costa. It’s also good for a quick takeaway bacon roll in the morning. It’s also funny listening to tourists from the USA (and other places) coming to grips with the Scottish cafe way of doing things. Always busy, which is a good sign. Recommended.

Much to my disappointment, the hot chocolate was not amazing. While the cream was of admirable quality and clearly applied with practiced technique, the marshmallows were needlessly chewy and of a strange, granulated texture, followed by the consistency. Unfortunately, it was woefully unpleasant, the beverage being far too thick to the point that all chocolate flavour was drowned out, reducing it to a thick sludge, making me unable to entirely finish the drink. The temperature was to a respectable standard however. A real heartache as the venue and staff were lovely. 1/10

After hearing lot about this place . I stepped in for breakfast yesterday. The quality of food is average specially the breakfast baked bean awful . Veg Sausage was good . Scone too oily . I wanted to try the coffee everyone said it’s good place for coffee . Sadly but not my americano was too hot and watery I don’t taste any coffee . Matcha was very light i didn’t feel the taste . Very very light . No going back again . Service nothing much to say ! Nobody came to ask how is the food etc . So we paid and left . Need to work on quality of product and service .
