This was one of our favorite places in Scotland! We were a party of 9 adults and 1 baby walking in without a reservation - we very easily could have been turned away, but the staff went over and above to accomodate us. It did take some patience on our part, but the atmosphere is so wonderful that we were happy to sit and enjoy this wonderful authentic Scottish pub experience. The food was absolutely amazing - the haddock & chips... the very best!! We had fish & chips all over Scotland and this place really stands out among them all. The Yorkshire pudding was also amazing! If you are a tourist in Oban, this pub is slightly off the beaten path - but do not miss it! We loved it!!

Step in for a look at the lovely interior, then go tuck in elsewhere. Hats off to the chef, though: Mr. Mitsubishi1200W got nearly all my chips reheated. The burger was char-grilled
on one side only. The other side was slimy and gray, a fact I noticed too late. While you’re waiting, you can watch them reheat the portions in plastic bins, and tip them onto the plate. The potatoes even retain the container’s shape! And avoid the seat in the corner by the ladies: they’ll ask you to get up and step away to get to their staff room while you’re seated, as happened to me twice.

This place is a gem 💎 Ordered the sharing platter as a starter, fantastic the mussels were the best I have ever tasted. The sauce was scrumptious but not too rich, perfectly balanced. The pate was wonderful and smoke salmon delish. We weren't done there mains were mussels again (they were so good in the starter, it would be rude not to 😋) and also the most wonderful scallops with planchette and black pudding risotto. All I can say is if you are in Oban GO GO GO to the Lorne Bar!! Staff were lovely also, the perfect experience. Congratulations to the chef, a real talent 👏

I had been twice in the past and enjoyed the visits but had a very different experience yesterday unfortunately. First if all 8 ordered a "diet" coke and was given coke zero.. when I pointed out I ordered diet he just stayed silent and pointed at the can of coke zero.. I had to then go on and explain that I didn't like the taste before he eventually had taken it away. We ordered the chicken wrap and vegan Cheese burger, we waited just under an hour! And my cheese burger had no cheese 🙈 during the long wait I had asked the staff if they could possibly put the heating in as it was freezing, many customers including myself were sitting with outdoor jackets on. I was told it was cold because of the door opening and closing, every restaurant I've ever been in has a door that opens snd closes and I've never had to sit with my outdoor jacket on to eat a meal, I was beside a radiator that was stone cold đŸ„¶ when I visit oban I like to avoid wetherspoons and use locally ran places.. at least with wetherspoons you know what your...

Went for our tea here tonight 24/7/24 , we called earlier to reserve a table as we were there the night before and it was booked out and we were told it's better to book and reserve , we were shown our table as soon as we were inside and our drinks order takes very quickly , we were given plenty time to make our choices from the menu , I Had the beer battered haddock and with chips and peas and the wife had the steak and ale pie , the fish was delicious, cooked perfectly the batter was nice and light just how I like it the chips and peas were also on point , The steak and ale pie was also delicious yes i had to have a taste , the wife said the beef was just melting in tour mouth and cooked perfectly also the mash was so creamy and lump free and the mixed veg was cooked to perfection , I would definitely recommend.end trying there if you are ever in Oban , the staff were very friendly and cheerful as well , 2 great meals for a...

We visited a few times for drinks, a pub quiz, and lunch. The staff are all very welcoming and helpful. The pub itself is tastefully decorated with some nice original features. The pub quiz on a Wednesday night was free, and the quiz master was quite amusing with a ÂŁ25 prize and opportunity to win a bonus bottle of wine if you answered a bonus question correctly. The lunch we had was a parmesan crusted haddock with mash and mixed vegetables and was very light and perfectly cooked. It was also generously portioned. The small mussels were equally well executed with some fresh bread on the side. The meal was very reasonably priced. The pub is close to the town centre but quietly tucked away, so it is not inundated with locals or tourists. We noticed that they did call last orders a bit early. On one night, it was around 9:40 pm. However, we are not sure of local...
