A nice pub - if you only look superficially. I don’t think I’ve ever given one star...
The staff leave a lot to be desired. Whilst we had an ok experience, we saw a waiter spill half a pint of beer over a neighboring gentleman’s table, lap and phone. The waiter left with the plates without an apology and didn’t rush back with anything to mop up the beer. The poor couple left their drinks and table soon after quite understandably appalled.
The tables are quite dirty, but I guess in an establishment this big it can be hard to keep up?! We had to ask someone to wipe our table for us.
The food was...ok. The jacket potato tasted reheated (silver lining - more resistant starch I guess), the chicken burger was quite good. Steak was ordered med-rare and arrived well done. But I guess you don’t expect the steak to be great.
The drinks were ok if out of a bottle, but my wine glass was left with remnants of lipstick and on the second order the bartender advised they didn’t sell the wine I’d just ordered 30mins before?!...to be fair they poured my wine in to a freshly polished glass 😕
In saying that, the location is good and the bathrooms are clean. You get the service, food and drink you pay for. My advice? Stick to drinks and snack foods and check your seat isn’t wet before you sit down (in case someone has spilt their...

The waitress came to ask if we were ready for our dessert before serving it even though we ordered it together with the meal. I was impressed! The place is so busy that I was expecting to receive everything we ordered in one go.
We visited on two occasions. Even though there were no available tables and we were contemplating on leaving, we were shown to a table where the waitress quickly cleaned and prepared the space for us. Everyone was nice, smiling, attentive, patient, and helpful.
We missed the breakfast cut off (12 noon) on our second visit. However, after asking if we can still get something similar, the waiter pointed to a section of the menu where we can order breakfast (just with chips instead of hash browns) until 5 pm. That was very helpful of him.
I loved the interior as well. We got some beautiful views of the boats and the water too. If you sit by the window, you can also enjoy stunning views of the city.
My only recommendation would be to label the toilets a bit more clearly. It was a bit confusing which one of all the doors is the toilets (looking from afar and trying to figure out which way to go). I would definitely go...
Read moreServed our food but no ketchup to be found in the place, when asked they said they had run out! A Whetherspoons with no ketchup, really!? We then asked if we could have bbq sauce instead and was told by Leanne (not sure if her real name as she was extremely reluctant to give her name) that if you wanted bbq you'd have to pay or wait as they had gone to buy ketchup! My son returned her rudeness in an equally rude manner! We then waited for said ketchup to arrive which after ½ hour it still wasn't to be seen and the nearest Tesco was a 5 minute walk away! I too work in hospitality and if I didn't have ketchup at the time I would offer the customer, if asked, an alternative for free, politely! Customer service is not difficult! We were wedding guests and the whole of the family were meeting there for lunch! My son was asked to leave after he'd eaten his now cold food! We had planned to stay there and eat/drink for a couple of hours! How Leanne's lack of customer service cost the pub business! Hopefully, she can be...
