I'd been looking forward to returning to Café Alba, it was excellent the last time we were there. Unfortunately this time the service took some time and the food was lukewarm. Still tasty and good ingredients, but my eggs Benedict had obviously sat for a bit before they were brought out. I ate them all the same because we waited a while to order then for the food to arrive and were too hungry to wait again. I did mention to the waitress, can see it's not her fault that there aren't enough staff to go around. Twenty six quid plus tip for a tea, a glass of water, eggs Benedict and a full breakfast would have been okay if it had been as good as the first time. We went elsewhere the next morning.

Walking along the town centre in Milngavie, we were looking for a place to have coffee and a snack. Saw this little place called Holly Berries. It was a quaint place with quirky decorations that were placed strategically. The chef was the waiter too and very polite and courteous. In for a coffee, ended up having soups and sandwiches. Oh, and the coffee is to die for. Definitely recommend this place. If in Glasgow and you happen to be in Milngavie, give this place a visit. I promise you, you would love it!

Lovely wee local cafe, popped in on Sunday and were lucky enough to get 2 seats. So accommodating when we wanted to add extra scrambled egg to the breakfast and gave me the option of having half black pudding half bacon with my eggs benedict. Food was delicious, the breakfast was HUGE, everything came really quickly as well .. Great wee place!

Popped in just for a quick lunch after completing West Highland Way, wish I had found them earlier.

Excellent home made soup, properly made, with a hot toasted sandwich (not half a sandwich as in some places) and what had been intended as a light lunch will see me through for the day at a great price.

Staff are very friendly and give a good service. I recommend that if you are heading out on the WHW then call in here first - the start of your hike is only a short 100 metres from their door and you are guaranteed an excellent breakfast to see you...

My wife and I went in this morning, a few empty tables so we sat down, the tall blonde with the pony tail came over and wiped the table without as much as a smile and didn’t even acknowledge the fact we were sitting there, she then threw the two menus onto the table and they slid across the table, at this point we walked back out of the cafe and won’t be back, we have eaten here before and had no problems. We proceeded along to Garvies where we were treated as you should be, menu’s handed to you with a smile from the very pleasant staff.
