Popped in for a post dog-walk lunch to this dog friendly cafe bar (obey those rules pooch - bark, Bark, BARK and you'll be out!). Finsbay is table service, and the two ladies working during our lunchtime visit were very good. This complements the really nice vibe to the place, which has little visual touches throughout that make you smile. As I was driving, I didn't try them, but there was a nice selection of beers on tap. Evening visit required... Instead, I perused the lunch menu and opted for the "Meat Your Maker" breakfast. A veggie option is available, plus some lighter options as well. In hindsight I wished I'd opted for the latter because the breakfast was pretty darned filling; with the picture I took not doing it justice since black pudding, bacon, and potato scone are hidden from view! The beans were a nice touch since, like the sausages, these were homemade with a hint of Tabasco for that added zing. If you're about to start the West Highland Way this breakfast will keep you going until you get to Fort Bill :-)

Disappointing experience overall. There was a 45 minute wait for food despite there being only a few other customers. We were not told about the specials available or the promotions that were on at the time. We also had to ask for our bill after waiting quite a while and one drink came in a dirty glass. You could hear staff arguing/ discussing weekend plans from the bar area. The menu was not the same as online. The mac and cheese was advertised as vegetarian yet was served with pancetta and beef fat chips. I added the gochuyang prawns which weren’t worth the extra £4. The truffle fries were also mediocre. Won’t be back.

Good place for a quick and easy bite. Quirky decor which our kids found interesting. Would've appreciated a bit more leaves in my salad and they got a few things we ordered wrong like plain fries instead of sweet potato fries, gave us white bread instead of the brown we asked for...BUT everything was still tasty. Oh and they allow dogs, which we were fine with but some people may not be...

If I could put 0 stars I would. After doubleing the ticket price to £20 from last year you would have expected a better night including freshly cooked bacon rolls not ones cooked in the afternoon as we were informed by the staff and Billy, a band that could sing and not jusy one bad pub singer for 2 hours, a real dj for the interems and not just billy and an ipod.

Also I am fairly sure the vodka had been watered down or the Smirnoff bottles filled with a cheaper brand of vodka. But it's okay as Billy and his staff said "what do expect for £20" well call me old fashioned but I expect my money's worth which I did not get.

The manager Billy is one of the rudest people I have ever met. After a fantastic time in Finsbay last year this year was an absolute shambles which was caused by Billy and some members of his staff. We were served ice cold and barely cooked bacon rolls which I was informed had been cooked earlier that day.

Whilst I was standing outside having a smoke Billy came out and said to the bouncers if our table complained again, to which I challenged him and said I'm with that party to which Billy accused me of putting bad reviews on bearsden community hub last year, which i had not but told him I would this year and went on to complain very nicely in front of the bouncers however billy just just barred me on the spot, even the bouncers where confused as to how you can be barred for complaining in the correct manner.

Billy then went on to berate my table and attempted to take a swing at a 69 year old man obviously are table lept to his defence and Billy called the bouncers in, creating a scene.

All night all I heard from the staff was "Billys mates this" and "Billys mates that" "when are Billys mates here" so obviously Billys only concern was his own friends.

Also whilst this was happening a young man with special needs had collapsed outside the venue after leaving Billy saw this but just ignored it and went on to berate our table. Billy was more concerned with us than seeing to the young man. Showing Billy to be a man with very poor judgement.

Billy should be ashamed of himself and we certainly will not be back. As I have been barred for posting bad reviews on bearsden community hub this year I certainly will be posting my reviews.

I also posted this review on Facebook but Finsbay have since blocked me and my wife who also posted a review so no one is able yo see our review on there Facebook. Very...

The Finsbay is under new management and sorry guys you are making a mess of what used to be a great place to eat. We were there yesterday. The menu choice was not nearly as varied as it used to be. My wife said her choice was ok. I had a chicken burger and chips. It was eatable however a piece of fried chicken dipped in buffalo sauce with one thin slice of tomato, a gherkin the size of a toddlers pinkie and a slimy leaf of wilted lettuce on a bun with chips wasn’t good for £14. Ridiculous really. Macdonald’s do a superior burger with more ingredients and far tastier for less than half that price. The quality of food is nowhere near the standard it was before. I did speak with the manager and explained why I didn’t like the lunch too. No offer of discount was made. The place used to be buzzing even on a Wednesday afternoon, not now though. I really wish their management fix the issues on menu selection, food quality and ridiculous price because I want them to be successful in a tough business these days. I hope they are listening because the good people of the area deserves better than this and I know they can do better. I don’t want this restaurant to close over fixable issues. We won’t be going to this restaurant again until they improve the menu, quality of food and get a handle on the...

The food wasn’t bad - fish and chips went down well, but the service was really bad - staff not on the ball at all. We might have ordered more food and drinks if we’d actually been asked. We had to ask for the lunch menus (which were initially refused and no offer of anything for a toddler.) I asked to order drinks, ask for the bill and then stood around with coats on waiting for the card machine while staff chatted at the bar. They seemed a bit lost/undirected under a manager who avoided eye contact between being glued to his phone and laptop. Having worked in the service industry myself for decades, it’s pretty frustrating to have an experience like this no matter how busy you claim to be. Hopefully just a bad day for them but I’ll be spending my money elsewhere in future.

In response to this manager’s reply, he is outright gaslighting and lying. If you Google him, it seems to be a pattern of poor customer service wherever he’s worked. Concerning. You’d think people running an establishment would be able to take some constructive criticism and want to improve. It appears not. Good luck...
