Such a lovely little shop. It's out of the way in Drumnadrochit unless you're going to the Loch Ness Centre, which we were, but it's WORTH THE TRIP!

It's got lovely ambiance and plenty of parking, the inside is as the picture shows: quaint with a ton of charm. They've got two wingback chairs in front of a wood stove and another bench in the window overlooking the street for additional seating

My mother, husband, two kids, and I stopped by for brunch on the way to the Loch Ness Centre. It was SUPERB. When we arrived, we were initially daunted by the fact that they did not take cards, so we drove up the road to the Coop to get cash from their ATM (which was similarly out of service), so we went on to the post office we are undauntable and traded some euros for pounds and went back to enjoy our breakfast. *NOTE: They generally do accept credit cards, but construction in the area had cut the wifi lines taking out their credit card machines and the ATM that we tried, so this shouldn't be a real issue going forward.

For around 40 pounds we all ate an exceptional breakfast. My mother and I had the full Highland vegetarian breakfast, with DELECTABLE vegetarian and vegan haggis (nuts/oats--not for the nut allergic), and soy as well as soy-free vegetarian sausage. The soy free one was made from sweet potatoes and other ingredients and was not very sausage-like, but it was still quite good. I was not expecting an alternative that I could eat because I don't eat pork and my newborn is soy allergic, so I expected to have eggs alone as usual. I was pleasantly surprised! The vegetarian haggis is the best thing I've ever eaten and I could happily have eaten 3. One comes with the breakfast, more the pity that. The fried eggs and housemade breads were delicious and it was so nice to be able to verify conclusively that there was no soy in the bread (commonly soy flour was used in Highland breads from what we saw).My older son had kids pancakes which were quite large and a vegetarian sausage (he's also soy allergic so this was so nice!).

I had traditional earl grey tea, which was lovely, but my mother ordered one of their special flower teas, which was not only beautiful (it's an actual dried flower served in a wineglass with hot water poured over and it opens as it's saturated by water) but delicious as well. The hot tea was served in antique china, and all the crockery was older and showed character.

I was able to breastfeed the baby in the extra chairs while my mom and husband spoke with the owner and the waitress. This wasn't just the breakfast we needed, but the experience as well! It was something I'd almost go back just to have again!!! We went on a Friday and it wasn't very busy, we were basically the only table there, and service took upwards of 30 minutes, so please don't go when you're ravenous. Be prepared to wait and enjoy the ambiance. As someone who cooks frequently at home, I understand that cooking does take time and there are only 2 cooks in the back and, though they may prep, it doesn't come out like it would at a place with line cooks and a lot of prepared/frozen foods. It is 100% worth it!

I cannot wait to go back to the Highlands if only to enjoy another Highland...

Was excited to try this cafe after the solid Google rating but left before ordering anything pretty disappointed. When we entered there was no acknowledgment from staff even though the sign says to wait to be seated; after a few minutes we had to go and find a staff member who advised us to take a seat and they’d bring menus. A different staff member came to take an order 5-10 minutes later, but no menus had been brought - so a few minutes after some menus arrived. Then after 5-10 minutes they came to take an order and then advised us half the menu wasn’t available. So after first arriving about 25 minutes earlier and still having no order underway for either food or drinks we decided to leave wondering just how long it would actually take; and the food both of us wanted on the menu wasn’t available.

While seated we noted other orders coming out that seemed to be going to the wrong tables and generally the staff, while nice enough, seemed to be almost confused and operating with no sense of urgency. There was a sign saying they operate quality food which can take time - no problem, we’re happy to wait, but the service itself needed a lot of work and I think communication amongst staff needs to be a lot better.

The food that we did see looked good so hence a 2 star giving some benefit of the...

We came here as it was well rated and left disappointed. Previous reviews suggested the cafe was not dog friendly so we left our dog in the car, but were surprised to find an off lead dog running around the place when we entered. We waited a very long time just to get our order taken. The cafe was about half full when we arrived (with some tables already served) although it did fill up during the time we were there. Our drinks were provided fairly promptly however were long since finished by the time our food was served. Now, I do respect that they make their food fresh to order, however when our breakfast eventually made it to us some elements were both overcooked and cold, so it was hard not to feel resentful of the wait time when my food would have clearly been more palatable a few minutes earlier. Our breakfast was also missing both the potato rosti and the homemade smoky beans that were advertised so enthusiastically on the menu. There was no service check at which we could mention this but in any case we were not of a mind to delay our breakfast further by waiting for it to be remedied, especially since it was already lukewarm at best. Given the very positive reviews that this place has previously received, perhaps our experience was not representative, but we are unlikely to...

I was so looking forward to this place because of the great reviews and they do a full vegan breakfast! Unfortunately I left very disappointed and feel robbed by the cost of the meal vs the portion sizes. Figured I would treat myself to a filling full breakfast for £14 and instead I got what felt like a half portion of each item, literally 6 pieces of potato, 10 beans and a half piece of toast. The menu lists 9 items in the description, imagine my surprise when that means 9 bites of food! I laughed when it was put on the table, and told the waitstaff when I paid that it was very disappointing, paying that much and leaving hungry. I went next door to the supermarket and bought all the food I need for the next 3 days for £15 including vegan sausages, beans, veg and even chocolate. I'm a chef and would be embarrassed to send this out, at least use smaller plates so it doesn't look so sad. Learned my lesson to cook for myself, sad because I really love to eat out and support local businesses, but this was a bad way to start my trip in Scotland. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking to fuel up for an adventurous day in the area.

We stumbled upon this quirky but quaint roadside café seeking shelter from impending rain. It was the loveliest experience! The service was absolutely delightful. Most importantly, the food was incredible: We had the café’s specialty triple layer sandwich and the bean stew with vegan haggis. It was worth every penny! The coffee was also great. They have a small menu but still offer a good selection of vegan and vegetarian options, both in lunch and cake selection. So every taste is catered to. The chocolate cupcake and carrot cake were really great as well. Additionally, our dog was not just welcome but ended up being celebrated and cuddled more than I have ever experienced in any café. It was delightful and the joy of the staff playing with the dogs was creating a fun and joyous vibe in the entire café. They also took a picture of our dog to be added to their very cute wall of fame of dogs that have visited the café. We can only recommend going there.

Amazing experience. Had 2 smoothies and a fruit juice in our group and all tasted great. Then to eat we had Scottish meat, a breakfast toastie and french toast. All was incredible . We all stated this was the best food we had eaten for a very long time. The sausages on the breakfast was incredible and the bread was homemade and absolute perfection. Wo members of staff came to check on us during our meal and was both incredibly attentive. After our meals we took two pieces of cake to go and they did not fall short of the expectations we had gotten from the meals. Overall a brilliant experience and wish it was more local so we could come back!
