Having read the reviews I just can't understand where the positives are coming from. I visited tonight with my partner, arriving around 6pm. We were quickly seated and given menus, but that's where the positives end. I was already surprised when I saw that a pint of Coca Cola was £4.50, but I ordered it regardless. I then saw the waitress at the bar pour a Coke and a Diet Coke from already open 2ltr bottles, meaning both drinks were totally flat. £4.50 for a pint of Coke out of a bottle opened the previous day is daylight robbery. We ordered food at the same time as drinks and after an hour and a half wait we walked out. Don't get me wrong, food was flying out the kitchen, all of which was for takeaway orders. What a terrible look for a restaurant leaving seated guests watching for over an hour as takeaway food flies out the door. Two other guests also questioned the wait and were told it's busy and food will be coming shortly. Interesting to see that their food arrived shortly after complaining. The restaurant is not busy, 6-7 tables is not a busy restaurant, but when you're more interested in fulfilling delivery orders I can see where the problems lie. Not once did one of the two waitresses apologise to me or anyone else for that matter, that only came when you questioned what on earth could be going on in that kitchen. Unfortunately I can't leave a review for the quality of food, but the service is...

Unhelpful staff, long waiting time, don’t recommend.

(More details added as requested by the restaurant staff: we had dinner at this restaurant. When ordering food the waiter was not helpful at all and can be a bit impatient. We said we don't want to have food that is too spicy, but the waiter said that he doesn't understand the concept of being 'a little bit spicy'. We then said we wanted a curry that is not too sweet, but the waiter said that all curries are sweet at this restaurant, without offering any constructive advice. We wanted to order a hot tea and asked if there was any options - waiter said "we have normal teas" and refused to give further details. After ordering food we waited for quite a long time although there is only one table occupied...

On our first night in Thurso we all went to this great restaurant. I like a pretty hot curry and as I have eaten here several times in the past I had my favourite dish being a chicken pathia madras hot. Well it was brilliant as usual lovely and hot with plenty flavour . We were up for the fishing and on our last day we all went back and I had to have the same dish and again it was delicious 😊 My local Indian restaurant The Radhouna has just won the best Indian restaurant award 2023 and I have to say the Pride of Bengal food is equally as good and would give the Radhouna a run for their money. The manager / owner Hassan is so friendly and makes the evening enjoyable. 😊 will be back...

Pride of Bengal in Thurso is a fantastic Indian restaurant that we ordered from for two consecutive nights—and we were not disappointed! The food was absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors and perfectly spiced. Each dish was fresh and cooked to perfection, making every meal a real treat. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable even though we ordered takeaway. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable, definitely worth the money. If you’re craving tasty Indian cuisine in Thurso, Pride of Bengal is the place to go. We’ll definitely be ordering from them again next time we’re in town. Highly recommended!

Found this nice Indian restaurant whilst working all the way up here and was pleasantly surprised. On first looks the restaurant looked old and dated , I walked in and no one was there to greet us and after shouting out "hello" 3 or 4 times someone came. We weren't expecting much after this but wow the food was very nice and very spicy which we like. The Naan was fresh , my Saag Aloo was really tasty and that was probably the most hot and spicy Jalfrezi I've had in Scotland. My work mate said his madras was also good and he loved the chicken pakoras. It's a very long way from my house but if I'm up here again I'll definitely come back! 👍🏻

VERY tasty food from this friendly restaurant. We ordered take away as the restaurant was fully booked (after eating the food, we could see why!). Shouts out to the friendly man who took our order on the evening of the first of September, just before the kitchen shut. Thanks for your patience while we decided what to eat. FYI - mango sauce that come with the pakora is unbelievably good.
