I would usually have given this place 5 stars. They are good....however, when last I went I was extremely disappointed that they nolonger had their lemon sauce.
Also, as a medic and fellow of the royal society for public health, I must feedback that whilst they clearly are trying from a covid point of view, forcing people to use plastic gloves is infection control madness...
We've studied how long covid survives on various surfaces (24 hrs on average for most surfaces, only 3 to 4 hrs for copper) the WORST surface in most studies is plastic....on which covid remains viable for THREE DAYS or more....so whilst the idea of a bowl of help yourself plastic gloves might seem good people touch lots of gloves when picking them, separating them, and putting them on , potentially transferring the virus...and other people then pick those gloves up and use them to handle food serving utensils and touch gloves handled by potentially numerous others when putting them on....
Plastic gloves are the worst possible solution here. You'd be better off without them and enforcing hand washing....or if you want them individually dispensed non plastic gloves. Yes it might cost a bit more but it may actually work.... I suspect plastic gloves provides likely only the illusion that you're doing something to help whilst in reality significantly increasing the risks...
Should the restaurant respond to this stating they've reviewed the dangerous plastic glove policy and reintroduced the lemon sauce I'll change the rating to the 5 stars they usually deserve.
By the way I'm pleased to see negative reviews by those who were challenged to wear masks (good on the staff!) and also enforcing mask wearing in generally unvaccinated age group of children, yes the risks they'll catch and spread it are a bit lower to start with but it does happen...it's not exactly a hardship of unmanageable and the number of people who truly merit medical exemption is likely extremely small (far smaller than those claiming they ought to be exempt). Anyway good on them maintaining a firm stance on this one and I hope it continues post 9th...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time at venue for wife and myself. Went at 2PM which counted as lunchtime, which is when the buffet is cheapest. Although less selection than at other times, youād hardly notice. Still lots to choose from, 3 types of soup, with fresh crusty bread and butter. Lots of starters to pick. Each dish was labelled clearly on the top of the serving station. I saw food being refreshed / replenished on a regular basis by the kitchen staff. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of meat on the spare ribs. Sesame prawn toast was also tasty and crispy without being dry. Two types of fried rice available. Boiled rice was available on request. All the mains dishes had plenty of meat in the sauce ( rather than little lumps swimming in it ). All food I tried was warm enough for me. The plates were of a smaller size than I was expecting. I soon discovered that used plates were cleared from the table by staff within a very short time. A supply of clean plates and cutlery were placed at multiple points around the buffet. These were clean and in good condition ( no cracks or chips). I didnāt do puddings but there was a wide choice. My wife tried a selection and loved her choices. We chose the refillable soft drinks. Was happy with the choice of fizz available. Other diners chose big jugs of water with their meals, which were refilled throughout. Staff weee friendly an attentive. Plates were cleared quickly, tables cleaned as soon as they were vacated. There was no queue at the entrance when we visited, just a friendly waiter to show us to our seats. Whole restaurant looked clean and tidy. I used the gents while at venue and was happy to see that it was also clean an tidy. Certainly will go back and would recommend to others. Downside: the music being played wasnāt oriental but uk pop which I found disappointing, but didnāt spoil the visit and the satay sauce was a little bit thinner than Iād like. (But still...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDONāT GO HERE! This place used to be great. We would stop for dinner there every time we were in Glasgow Braehead for the snow dome. But Iām unhappy to report that it has gone downhill since then. We went on Thursday night after a couple of hours on the slope, arriving about 7:45pm. There was a very poor selection of food on offer, in fact there was more cheap party food out than Chinese food. Quartered mini pizza, chicken nuggets, sausage rolls, sausages(deep fried) and so on. The selection of Chinese food was limited and of poor quality, there were some selections whoās hot trays were left empty, example, no pancake in the bamboo steamer and no shredded duck to fill the missing pancakes with, plenty spring onions though. Beef with peppers in ginger sauce was actually COLD and almost everything thing that we tried was bland and flavorless, a sure sign of bulk cheap ingredients. The desert selection, which the kids usually love was also very poor, all the fruit bar the grapes was out of a tin, the cheesecake is a joke, 1ā cubes does not constitute a slice of cheesecake to me. While Iām on the subject of pudding, Aldi Digestive and Bourbon biscuits are NOT a desert option, they are for dunking in your tea. I pity the poor people who were still arriving as we were leaving, none of the choices had been refreshed the entire time we were seated and the chocolate fountain had already been switched off. Please donāt go here, it is a complete waste of your hard earned money. My wife has been in the catering industry for 30 years plus, she was on the verge of calling the local environmental health department after this visit. Thankfully we didnāt over eat as some do at buffet restaurants, I feel if we had then would have been paying for it today. If I could give no stars I would but I canāt, so one star is all it is getting and that is being kind....
