I have been going to tony macaronis at breahead since they opened. Me and my husband are regulars as well as my mother and father. I’m appalled at my last three visits since Christmas the customer service used to be great it is now awful. Because we are regulars we got gifted £200 of tony macaroni vouchers at Christmas time by our parents. We always tip the waiters £10/£15. However we went in after Xmas and used our vouchers when we presented them our waiter then took a really frosty approach to us but I thought it’s busy and it’s a one off. We went back in January and used our vouchers again where the waiter looked at them if they weren’t real walked away and left us sitting for ages he was so rude that we didn’t tip him. Then tonight we went back in again to have a meal the place was quiet. Our meal was nice but at the end we had to ask for the bill twice off of the waitress who was very rude and to busy talking to her friend. Another waiter brought us the card machine and took it away three times before returning we used £40 worth of vouchers and where paying the outstanding £9.95 plus tip. He then proceeded to take the vouchers to the bar area once we had paid the bill and showed the rude girl waiter who turned them over and scrutinised them shrugged her shoulders threw her hands in the air and then showed them to her friend who shaked her head and stormed off. Tony macaroni WHY are use selling gift vouchers at Xmas time willing to take the £200 cash at the time but when customers use them your staff are RUDE and IGNORANT to customers ???? I will never return to your restaurant in breahead or byres road now and neither will my family each time we come as a family we spend £200 at a time and when we come our self as a couple we are never anything less than £65. You have now lost our custom because of our last three visits and we have been coming for years....
Read moreWent in got seated quickly Not much of an atmosphere and staff not as welcoming as other Toni Macaroni restaurants that I have attended. Ordered bottled coke no ice, waiter brought with ice in glass and when I pointed this out he then took glass away with not much apology or even as much as a smile. Food came macaroni cheese that was dry and not much flavour. My meal was a pasta also which was average , these pastas were served in cold pasta bowls which meant the pasta cooled really .quickly. We also ordered garlic bread which tasted like fried garlic bread, I believe this was not real butter that was used in the garlic bread. we orders coffee mine being a flat white that was served luke warm! We were not asked how the meal was! When we asked for the bill a different waiter arrived and I explained about the macaroni and he said nothing , just sort of nodded as if what do you want me to do…. When paying the bill asked if we had been charged for the macaroni and again he sort of nodded and said he had mentioned it , !wasn’t explained who he mentioned it to. Oh just to point out that the macaroni wasn’t made with macaroni it was pasta twists! We had chips which were the best part of the meal! Couldn’t go wrong with them as they were just frozen chips. I have been in this branch a few time albeit it was quite a while ago and the food was definitely better. I would not return and will be calling to speak with a manager as I think this was the worst Italian meal I have ever had. I actually would have liked to have spoken with the chef as the quality of food...
Read moreWent to the Braehead venue for a family meal, which my family and I were really looking forward to. Our table booking was at 17:30. We were seated and placed our food and drink orders in quite a quick amount of time. That's where the good part ended unfortunately. We had specified during the orders about having our pizza sliced for our 2 children - for easiness, and it states on the menu this can be requested. The wait for food was 35-40 minutes, so by this time we were starving, the pizzas were burnt in part around the crust, filling bland, stingy on the toppings, and not pre sliced as requested. As soon as I noticed this, the waitress was happy to get the pizza sliced but it took a further 10 minutes to have the food returned to us. All 4 pizzas were 'ok' but not really what you could expect from an Italian restaurant. During the meal, we asked our waiter for tap water for our table ( which never arrived ). After we finished the food ( we gobbled it all up, cos we were pretty hungry) we had to wait another 30 minutes for our plates to be cleared. Despite the excessive waiting time,we decided to order dessert ( sundaes), which again took 20+ minutes to be served. Our bill was at least prompt, but we were still billed the optional 6.5% service charge- which we refused to pay as we felt the service was just appallingly slow, and food bland. I used to enjoy Tonys'but have been completely put off from ever returning again. Disappointed as we can only afford to go out occasionally due to cost of living crisis. Such a shame. I don't think we will be back for...
