Five Guys Burgers and Fries Glasgow GRID — Restaurant in Scotland

I had never been to a five guys before. This was my first experience. The first thing is that the actual eating area was untidy. Not actually dirty but a bit of a mess. Tables were squint, chairs all over the place, quite a lot of crumbs. Not bad enough to affect the score but noticeable. We would have preferred our food to be taken to us instead of getting shouted back to collect it but that is just the way it's done so I can swing with that. The only problem is the price. I have never complained about the price of something before as I am will to pay extra for something a bit special. The burger was very good. The shake was very good. Very tasty. Not excellent. It was just too much money. Myself, my girlfriend and my 8 year old son. 3 burgers with fries and 3 drinks was almost £50. It was good but not that good. Will I be back? Probably. First visit - although family members have been raving about the fries for ages. Now I know what I've been missing!! Amazing "salted fries" - and real Sarsons vinegar on the relish stand is a nice touch and makes the fries even better! As for the burger, one bite of that - and a bun that doesn't just hold the meat and toppings together, but actually tastes home-baked - and you know why eating here costs more the bigger burger chains. Proof that "you get what you pay for" and this is well worth the extra!! The other diners - families, couples, teenagers - had obviously been before and seemed happy to be back. The staff were lovely; very friendly and helpful... Will definitely go back (but next time will listen when they say that a "small" portion of fries really is enough for...

It is so expensive but the burgers and fries really are delicious. I ordered fries for everyone but the staff told me it would be too much. 1 large would easily do 2 adults. My son said it was one of the best milkshakes he's had and he's tried quite a few. I would say the little burger is a normal sized burger and would even do an adult. I love the options of toppings. The normal burger has two meat patties. I literally rolled out if the place I was so stuffed. Family of five with young kids cost over £60 so not your standard fast food outing.
