Visit to Deans on Sunday 22nd May. I did book on website for a Sunday lunch offer 3 course with glass of champagne when we arrived the menu had changed with I understand is noted as subject to change at restaurant discretion. I asked the waiter if the a la carte menu was available to order from to which he replied yes but I will have to take the Prosecco away which he had already served to us I replied that I was happy to pay for the 3 glasses of Prosecco but I felt totally embarrassed that he was saying this in front of other diners that this is the action he would be taking if we didn’t order form the lunch menu. He brought us the other menu to which the 3 course offer also includes a glass of Prosecco so I am still confused as to why he had threatened to take it away. I noticed that most of the food was on the a la carte menu so I offered that as it was 2 people in the party that preferred the a la carte menu that I was happy to order from the Sunday lunch menu when he replied he would need to ask the kitchen if one person can order from a different menu. I wasn’t asking to mix and match food from both menus so I really didn’t see a problem with this so I asked him to remove the Sunday lunch menu from the table. We then ordered a bottle of wine which was not available in stock. This was a 30th birthday dinner and I feel it was spoilt from the word go with the attitude of this waiter and the embarrassment he caused to us. He was definitely not the usual standard of staff I have ever been served by at Deans his customer service was shocking. I would also like to point out the same waiter was out the back of the restaurant having a smoking break when we passed to enter the restaurant I was somewhat surprised when he greeted us as in my opinion he had no time to return inside and wash his hands. The food was amazing as always compliments to the chef and the other 2 waiters the young dark haired girl and the young lad who sever our bread they were both lovey Sorry Deans not sure if I will return...

Have to say the day didn’t go as planned and wasn’t expecting to end up at Deans. Saying that very happy we did. It seems very hard to find a location in Perth that does a Sunday roast. Deans does a great one if I have to say. What to expect a very warm welcome and friendly staff. We were shown to our table not the best as we were seated by the entrance to the toilet. This was a surprise as there was only one other table being used so maybe not the best location was a negative but in the end didn’t spoil the day. Servcs was good was offered a drink when seated then a few minutes later was asked for the food order. This seemed simple but not as easy as you would expect as they take the order as you sit at the table this didn’t work when the starters arrived as I didn’t get what I ordered and didn’t end up eating my one as the order I asked for was given to one of the others and they loved the theatre that went with the food and didn’t want to take it from them. So I missed out as what was ordered for them wasn’t for me. It didn’t go to waste as it scoffed very quickly by the other half as the food was so good. When the mains were served I got my roast beef that was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Only negative was the size of the Yorkshire pudding they were tinny. It was hard to find on the plate. Then again the chicken dish didn’t come with a Yorkshire pudding that he was looking forward to as that is one on the best parts of a Sunday lunch. Might be better if they’d gone to get aunt betty’s. We all enjoyed what we ordered and so happy we ended up at Deans. I will be going back again to try the rest of the food on offer and if as good as what was served today will keep visiting when I visit Perth. This is a must visit if you are in Perth, if today is a sample of what to expect. It can...

Last night we celebrated my mum's 80th birthday at Deans, we travelled 2 hours to get there, and all of us would gladly travel longer if it meant we could enjoy the evening all over again.

The whole experience was perfect, from my initial enquiry email in December, to the regular email contact from Athene and Leila with suggestions, ideas and recommendations, right up to meeting with family in the bar area for cocktails before dinner.

I had sent down table decorations prior to the evening and they had made up a table in the bar AND the restaurant for our family group and it was beautiful ❤️

Every. Single. Team member we came into contact with was wonderful, knowledgeable, funny, kind and helpful and I can't thank them all enough for making our evening so special. Mums birthday has been thwarted with family health issues and the grand plans my parents had for her big birthday had been dashed, but the team at Deans stepped in and made everything perfect in what has been a difficult situation.

The food, oh my gosh the food. All 3 courses were delicious, looked so pretty on the plate and filled up a family who love to eat.... Even the nephew with hollow legs! My personal highlight of the meal being the smoked salmon starter which was so much more than just local salmon on a plate.

I for one, cannot wait to go back and will look for any excuse to be down in Perth so I can drink cocktails and eat delicious food time and time again.

Thank you team, you can't know how grateful I am...

Have been meaning to come here for a little date night for a very long time, and it absolutely did not disappoint. The star of the show was, without a doubt, my scallops with black pudding and crushed sweetcorn starter. I have never had scallops cooked so perfectly and seasoned and paired so well. The flavours were amazing and the presentation was beautiful! I would come back just for that! My Fiancé and I had the venison and chicken for our mains, both cooked perfectly, rich and tender, and served immediately after our starters. And for dessert we had the Crème brûlée and Chocolate cremeux. The portion sizes were ideal too. We both managed 3 courses and cleared our plates, and left very satisfied but not uncomfortably full. I genuinely couldn’t fault a single thing, right down to the temperature of the food when it was served. I realised afterwards that we didn’t once look for salt or pepper as the food was bursting with flavour, and I didn’t use even half of the peppered sauce that came with my main, as the chicken was already so juicy and tender. Huge compliments to the chef 👏 Staff were so lovely and attentive, and informed us as we were leaving that they do a tasting menu on a Thursday. We will 100% be back! Gorgeous food, setting and atmosphere 🌟
