We were highly recommended to visit this restaurant by our hotel. Absolutely fantastic food and service by the first two staff, especially the first staff who patiently assisted us with the ordering of dishes and wine. They were 5 star service staff. Though we waited for our dessert that took at least 15-20mins we didn't mind as we chatted about our wonderful trip. But it became sour when the manager asked us to quickly make payment as our table was under reservation but we could finish our wine. Perhaps she could have managed it better in another manner. For that is why I gave 2 stars for service because the manager made our overall experience dull. It is not fair to the first two staff who were absolutely wonderful but I need to point out that the manager failed them. Otherwise, the evening would have been perfect. Our trip to Scotland was perfect until this evening. We've visited Scotland many times and definitely, this is not Scottish hospitality.

We went for dinner before a show in the theatre next to the restaurant. We booked for 5pm to give us plenty of time. It was a Wednesday and it quickly filled up. We had smoked mackerel and the squash as starters then shin of beef which was melt in the mouth amazing. We had mash on the side. The whipped crowdie with blackcurrant sorbet and granola was equally delicious with intense flavours, Scottish cheesecake indeed. The service was great, every dish described and drinks provided promptly. Water given by default and bread served after. We were also offered more bread when we finished it. We had coffee to finish and also offered top ups. A comfortable room and warm too. Great food good value.

Fancy little place in the heart of Perth where we decided to halt and just have lunch. It came so highly recommended that it was worth the city detour. And I must say I wasn’t disappointed at all. A cute little table was reserved for us and the starters were some refreshing pudding along with butter and toasts. Then the main starters and main courses were uniquely prepared and presented. Mine was a flavoursome mash of proteins, grains and garnishing. The carrots 🥕 and other veggies had a fresh and healthy taste to it. Right amount of crunch and cooked sogginess which you expect. It almost felt like they have a farm of their own from where they pluck these veggies daily.

An extra star for the wine selection and food.

Decided to stay in Perth on a flexible trip for this restaurant, booked a table beforehand of course. The restaurant clearly allows 1-person bookings but put me away right in front of the entrance door, next to the wardrobe, in an area not at all resembling the ambiance they advertise in photos and praise on their website. I voiced my disappointment in the beginning but still decided to order and had a very friendly and nice time afterwards, however, when multiple groups left and I asked if I could still have my dessert at one of the now free tables in the actual area of the restaurant, I was told that "that would cost extra time to clean the tables and so they are not doing that". Very sad! Booked a table like everyone else and even agreed to a phone call of the restaurant asking me to change the booking to an hour earlier so that they could accommodate more people. I do normally not often post references but now felt my duty to do so (paid...

Had a meal here on a recent trip to Perth. I personally felt the pigeon was overdone for me and I also ordered the venison which was slightly overdone.....the pigeon dish for me didnt work as the flavours did not do justice for the pigeon....the pigeon and venison were very underseasoned too.

The venison ragu was full of flavour though and was the highlight of the venison dish!

Service was prompt but I noticed no potato with the venison main and asked the server if they would recommend "mash" ..however was told "just depends on your appetite" which I noticed was the retort to another customer who asked the same as myself ...i was not advised that the mash was enough to serve x 2. If I was told this I would not have ordered same as I felt it was way too much mash (was very good though! ) for one person.

The wine selection is very good and the mocktail I ordered was fitting for summer with...
