Read moreWe popped in here to see the stone of destiny, as we have always wanted to see it, on arrival we weren't sure if we could get tickets as the website isn't very clear that there is walk in tickets available on the day and that online tickets must be booked 24 hours prior to your visit, which is a bit stupid if you ask me. Although the museum and cafe were very busy, we were the only ones going in to see the stone of destiny probably because they don't advertise these walk in tickets! The presentation was very interesting but there was limited seating and no photos were allowed which is quite disappointing. The museum itself has a good variety of items on display although the layout probably could be better. There isn't any seating that we could see and the toilets are located upstairs, we didn't see a lift so not sure how accessible this museum is. There are free wheelchairs to use at the door and there is a small shop with a good selection of gifts. We were quite impressed with the museum and definitely much better than the v&a in dundee but there is room for improvements. Definitely worth a visit...
Read moreWe're visiting Perth on short notice and today was a rainy day, so we decided to stop by the gallery (knowing nothing about it) so we could stretch our legs. We were very impressed. Our boys loved the creative area set up for kids (as did we). It was well thought out and inspired them to make and create. The shop was lovely and, in particular, has a great selection of books for kids and adults. I especially loved the selection of titles on Perth history and art. The galleries are limited at the moment, but they were perfect in every way all the same. The galleries are beautiful rooms, the artwork is gorgeous, and the tags and additional information printed on the gallery walls were interesting and thought-provoking. Some of the artwork had two tags and I found out the second set were written by students at a Perth school. What a great project, and enrichment for visitors to the gallery! You can even get a peek into the room where artwork is carefully packed up ready for when the new Perth Museum opens next year. What a treasure...
