Had a feast here and got a good mix of sushi dishes to try. We were about £35 each, we got a generous selection of sushi plus 2 beers – not bad at all for the quality and quantity.
Here’s what we got in order of preference: 🍱Unagi Roll 🐙Takoyaki 🌈Rainbow Roll 🍙Spicy Tuna Temaki 🍣Salmon Roe Nigiri 🥑Avocado Maki 🥣Miso Soup 🍣Tuna Sashimi 🐙Tako Sashimi
Starting with 🍱Unagi Roll, which was definitely my favorite of the bunch. Perfectly tender eel with a smoky and sweet flavour – unreal. 🐙 Takoyaki was another hit, crispy outside with a rich, creamy filling. 🍙Spicy Tuna Temaki was also solid, proper tuna strips and packed a nice bit of heat.
🌈Rainbow Roll was colourful and had a great 🍣Salmon Roe Nigiri was fresh with that pop of roe. 🥑Avocado Maki was simple but a good palate cleanser after some of the richer items. 🥣Miso Soup was warm and comforting, although not a standout among the spread.
The sashimi –usually my fav- was probably the weakest of the selection, 🐙octopus was a bit chewier than I prefer and lacked flavour and 🍣tuna sashimi didn’t wow me either.
Overall, Don Ya Sushi put out an impressive spread that I felt was worth every penny. Great quality, fresh ingredients and tons of variety to keep things interesting. A solid spot and up there with the best sushi in Glasgow.

Read moreJust back from here. What a horrendous experience! Booked a table for 16 people for 6pm. Was asked to pre-order which we all did so we would not have to wait so long. Sent in the order night before. Still did not start getting any food until about 6.30pm when I had to go down and ask where our food was. Sushi rolls came in dribs and drabs and so did the mains. Some had finished their ramen before others even received theirs. Last meal came about 8.15pm! We left as soon as we done the cake as it was a special 16th birthday for my daughter. This spoilt the family celebration. Excuses were the food was freshly prepared. I can understand that but we booked for 6pm and pre ordered so sushi rolls could have been ready for us all and the mains cooked while we were eating the rolls. Food was good but by that point we would have ate anything as we were so hungry. Don't go if there is anymore than 4 in your group as they cannot seem to handle this. Asked to see manager who was a no show. Management need to do better. This was not a late booking ample warning was given. What was the point. We as a family enjoy eating out and especially sushi and japanese food but this place will not be for us anymore. Also no discount was given for the long wait! Still had to pay the full price of the meal which was a...
Read moreI reserved a table online 1 week ago and confirmed one day before the dining. I didn't receive any email notification, nor did they confirm properly over the phone.
Anyways, the place had an okay ambience. It was overwhelming because the menu had a gazillion food options to choose from. Definitely could have been a lot simpler, as it was hard to lock down on one choice.
Wine(Sauvignon blanc) was good, I ordered spicy Ramen and honestly, it wasn't up to the mark. I definitely expected more given the excessive positive reviews. Also, the items were a bit overpriced. I'm leaving a lower rating, just to be critical and to regress data towards the mean. I haven't tried their sushi, but I hope it will be good the next time I visit it.
The staff were sweet and nice.
PRO TIP : Use the 10% discount on (no drinks, only food) when you dine and 25% off when you order online. Even the staff weren't aware of this, but their website...
