Gidi Grill, St. Andrews — Restaurant in Scotland

I don't know where to start. Had a drink in the bar the bar tender was lovely and drinks good. From then on very poor. Sat down and was asked did we had an 'it is on' voucher we said no !! Server proceeded to tell us she thought there was no steak and maybe no lobster in fact whole of the bottom of the menu not available ! Starter awful, very dry, one asparagus! Main ... chicken and Haggis ... fondant potato hard ! not enough sauce ... chicken was OK.... wine ok. Then went to loo no toilet paper which is just ridiculous! 105 pounds which we had had to pay at the bar...

The steak was amazing — tender, juicy, and full of flavor. All the sauces are worth trying, and the corn was surprisingly delicious. The service was outstanding: warm, attentive, and thoughtful. They checked in with us during the meal and really cared about our experience.

I mentioned it was my birthday, and not only did the staff offer kind wishes, but they also surprised me with a complimentary dessert. So heartwarming!

Great value too — a 10oz ribeye at this price is hard to beat. The veggies were tasty as well....

Conveniently located restaurant with small but good menu. We had the linguini as well as pulled pork, which were excellent. The scotch old fashioneds were a bit sweet for me. The desserts and after dinner scotchs were excellent. Service was good, and the value...
