Greggs — Restaurant in Scotland

This place has only been open for a couple of months but they really should have worked out their service issues by now.

This is more of a fast food style place with screens when you come in the door to place your order. Trouble is that this isn't everything on the menu, it's only what the kitchen make. So you order there (you can't pay) then go to the counter and order more things but then you have to go back to the screen because inevitably there are no hot sausage tools or whatever else you were looking which wasn't orderable on the screen and you still want something hot.

Once you get to the counter again then you have to wait for your food being prepared (this is good as you know it's not been lying) but the people behind the counter seem mostly lost and wander between screens and the hatch to the kitchen bringing things one by one and not really coping with multiple orders very well. Meanwhile anything that you did pick hot from the counter is sitting getting cold.

We got our food in the end and it was mostly hot and tasty - exactly what you would expect from Gregg's. It's an interesting new concept for them but needs some work to make it work...

I placed an order on two occasions with just eat, while I was waiting the drivers signal got lost, one off the days it was 15.35pm and still no order which I ordered at 12.30pm. When I contacted the store on both occasions I explained that my order as not not been delivered and I am still waiting, the staff told me it as, I explained that I will not be on the phone otherwise, I asked her can you not speak to the driver her response was we dont have nothing to do with the driver's you will have to speak to just eat for a refund. Any other takeaways as there drivers details to ask were they are just in case something like this happens. The female staff sounded like she can not be bothered dealing with it, Either the driver gave my orders to some one else or just ate them him/her self. When I explained she just laughed started to talk over me and she had a real attitude. They are working for greggs so she should have asked were the order was for this customer. I will not be at a greggs again and now that they are cutting jobs I hope it is this store. Staff are useless, and...

Fast friendly service always lots of product, unlike most Gregg's they have a partially open plan kitchen so you can see the food is being prepared and cooked in a clean sanitary environment. I bought then knocked over a large coffee and was mortified - however they were so nice about it, stopped me from cleaning it up myself and did it, the manager asked if they'd made me another which they had already he then came over to me whilst putting sugar in my drink to reassure me that everything was ok and that "accidents happen, dont worry about it" 🙂 - I go in most days now on...
