Cool find on our trip to Oban for a few days. Locally roasted coffee, with some vegan options for cakes and sandwiches (ate possibly one of the best cinnamon buns I’ve ever had). Also sell retail packs of their coffee in the shop - picked up the Rwanda after trying it. Maybe slightly more expensive that other places in town but totally worth it. Didn’t sit in but looks good inside (also has outside seating). My only criticism is that the guy (maybe the owner?) who served us both times we went was a little curt with us, or seemed that way at least. Would be 5 stars otherwise but definitely worth checking out if in Oban.

I never thought that one of my favourite local places for a top tier hot chocolate would ALSO be one of my favourite places to get an empanada, but I stand corrected! As someone who doesn’t drink coffee, I really appreciate how discerning their drinks menu is, and that they’ve branched out into offering different types of single origin cocoa. Amazing. Their baked goods are a brilliant compliment to their fantastic drinks, and again the EMPANADAS!!! Can’t recommend enough.

Had a delightful, rich brownie and a full bodied coffee. A wonderful atmosphere in the cafe as well. Dog friendly with a nice selection of music to go with the spectacular views of the bay. I'm not going to lie, I was bit tired when I first walked by all the rain Oban had thrown at me. However, this little coffee and brownie pick-me-up was all I needed to get my day back on track. I loved my time at Hinba Coffee Shop, I wish I was there always.

A hidden gem at the heart of a hidden gem. What a fantastic little shop. I’ve been a master barista for years, even spending some time managing an independent coffee shop in a big city, and this place was one of the most unexpected and delightful surprises Oban had to offer this year.

Literally visited this shop twice every day I stayed in and I could not have been happier with both their coffee as well as their pastries. Everything had a level of quality that’s hard to find in some of the biggest cities in the world, but here in Oban you get to sip some amazing espresso while sitting outside, watching the bay as ferries come and go.

What a lovely experience from beginning to end - the baristas were extremely sweet, helpful and friendly. It’s rare to find people with such skill, let alone ones completely devoid of pretentiousness.

This will be my first stop on my next excursion to Oban, and it should be yours as well. One of the nicest coffee shop...

I visited this café on August 4th around 3:30pm. While the coffee itself was good, the service was extremely disappointing. The staff left dirty dishes piling up on tables and only cleared them after a customer explicitly asked them to do so. Even then, the very crumb-covered tables were not wiped down until another customer requested it. Shockingly, the staff member wiped the crumbs directly onto the customer’s chair instead of cleaning them properly.

Additionally, our order was forgotten, and instead of focusing on their work, the staff stood around gossiping about previous customers. The whole experience was quite unpleasant. The staff member working during that time clearly lacks the professionalism and attitude required for this job. Unfortunately, the poor service overshadowed the quality...

Quite taken aback by the rudeness of the business owner. I was served a cup of tea and a few minutes later went to the counter to ask if we could get some milk and sugar. The lady behind the counter was grinding some pepper, and seemed affronted as if I had done something outrageously rude… she told me she was clearly busy and implied I should leave her alone so I just returned to my seat without an answer. My partner overheard this and let the lady know that the tea was getting cold and that it’s not normal to talk to people so rudely when they’re asking a polite question. We ended up leaving because of this, having pre-paid for drinks and a meal we didn’t have, as well as a 10% tip. We were refused a refund despite not yet receiving the food. We have never experienced such...
